La Plaza Veterinary Clinic

La Plaza Veterinary Clinic Tailored wellness for every paw: Where pet health flourishes! Growing up, his favorite cat was Cotton.

Influenced by his momโ€™s love of animals, who once nurtured an orphaned possum back to health, Dr. Nate grew up amongst sheep, dogs and a myriad of cats in the heart of Sonoma. He would wrap himself like a shawl over his neck and follow him to school. This connection to animals motivated Dr. Nate to pursue a Zoology degree, receiving honors, from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 199

6. After spending a few years in the pharmacy industry, as well as volunteering for Americorps, a national community service organization, Dr. Nate attended veterinary school at The Royal Veterinary College in London, England, graduating in 2003. For the past 20 years, Dr. Nate has helped heal pets from the various clinics and hospitals around the Bay Area where heโ€™s worked. He has a particular interest in internal medicine, diagnostic imagery, dentistry, pharmacology, and anesthesiology. Outside of work, Dr. Nate enjoys the great outdoors with his wife, Vero, and their 2 kids, Gigi and Ben. Of course, camping trips are only whole when Roger, the Beagle-Dachshund mix pup comes along, and the senior cat, Loulou Chat, is really happy to have the house to himself! Most importantly, Dr. Nate is grateful to have found La Plaza Veterinary Clinic which will allow him to grow as a veterinarian, provide employment and be of service to the pets and their families for Cotati and its greater community. He and his family look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with your families and pets, keeping them happy and healthy!

Hot take: hay quality matters just as much in summer as it does in winter. ๐ŸŒพ

Here's something a lot of horse owners don't think about until there's a problem. When pasture quality peaks in early summer, horses on full turnout may actually be taking in less dry matter than you think because fresh grass is mostly water.

Horses still need consistent forage to keep the hindgut moving. Pulling hay entirely when pasture looks great can quietly lead to digestive upset, changes in manure, or unexplained behavior shifts.

A simple rule to keep in mind: forage first, always. Even in June. ๐Ÿ™Œ
