Weekend adoptions are still going strong! On Saturday, Chicken Nugget and Snapdragon went to their new home together, which is great cause they have become buddies. And on Sunday, little Tater found his new mom! Good luck babies, have a wonderful life!

Good morning faithful followers! Happy Monday!! We wanted to do a quick update, because a lot of you have applied to volunteer and haven't heard from us yet. That is because we have over 100 volunteer applications since the interview aired last week! It is incredible, but it will take a bit to go through them all. Please be patient with us while we try to sort through and organize all of your wonderful applications. Rest assured, someone will be getting back with you very soon. We will start with an email that will ask you what you are interested in doing and give you options. The sooner you answer that email, the sooner we can get with you by phone or in person. Then we will start scheduling people and teaching you the ropes of helping at the rescue.

Thank you again for everything you are doing for us. Donations have been pouring in and we are getting everything organized.

BTW, if anyone knows of a storage shed that someone might want to donate and deliver, please let us know. We are running out of room for all of this stuff you are sending us! What a fabulous problem to have, right?

Two more adoptions, lots of donation deliveries and almost constant foot traffic today! The momentum is still with us! Shirley and Bobbi Jo (both adults) went home today! We know both of their foster moms will be SO happy! So are we. Many happy years to both of you very deserving mamas!! You raised your babies, now go enjoy the good life!!!

It has been such a crazy week here at the rescue that we've fallen behind on one of our most important duties. Letting y'all know who has gone to their new homes! We are happy to report that Adrienne, Rip and Fifi were all adopted this week! Good luck babies, we know you're in good hands!

Hey guys, scammers are everywhere. If you are donating on any link other than our shelter love link please be very very careful that you are only donating to us. People are creating fake accounts with slight changes to try to scam our donations. These are our links. Venmo is the one that has been caught and was brought to our attention. There's nothing we can do to take it down but if you want to donate on Venmo use this qr code - this will take you to the right profile. We don't have any other venmo accounts.

I'm currently checking all social media platforms to find out if anybody is creating clone accounts.

A letter to our supporters,

This is going to be a hard one, so please bear with us. We are in trouble. Both physically and financially. Besides the current health crisis that two of our board members are dealing with, the two volunteers who come in every week to help with deep clean are both out of commission as well. For the last couple of years, the 4 board members have pretty much run the rescue. Now we are down to two who are physically able to continue. Two of us cannot do what needs to be done. We need people who can volunteer to come in mornings to help clean on a regular basis. One day a week would be a huge help. We also need people to volunteer to transport on Wednesdays to the clinic, as well as people who are willing to set the desk and learn our computer program to help out with adoptions. Without more people volunteering, we may not make it. Actually, we won't make it. If you have considered volunteering before, this is your chance. You can fill out a volunteer application on the website, or message us through Facebook.

Additionally, we have depended on one particular Board member who has funded our spay/neuter program financially for a while now. That has come to an end. The average cost per week is anywhere from $200 to over $1,000 depending on the needs of the week. While our low-cost spay/neuter program for the public helps cover part of this, it is far from covering the entire cost.

If we are going to continue the work we do, it is going to take people, and money. That is the bottom line. We are working on Grant applications but those take time. We are hoping and praying that the people who support our work will step up.

Donations can be made through our website or in person at the rescue. Through the website, you can also set up a monthly donation. If 100 people donate $25 a month, the building rent would be covered. Then there's electric, water, wifi, and employee costs (we do have a few). The more people who do this, the more costs, including spay/neuter, will be supported.

We will be trying to keep our regular hours for as long as we can. But that may change. We may have to raise adoption and spay/neuter prices. We will do as much as we can to keep us here in the community. We appreciate every one of you for your support and encouragement of our mission. Hopefully, with your help, we will be able to continue it.
