Okay first things first, take a look at my aftercare on my website blog! It’s got everything you need to set you up for success.

We accept navel piercings from September/October through February. Why? Just take a step outside…

Our region is unforgiving to say the least. The navel is one of the hottest areas of the body, collecting some of the most sweat and bacteria. You couple that with body products, sitting long periods, clothing, getting up and down, in and out of your car… it’s not a cute situation for healing.

Yea I know I could just inform you and send you on your way, but that feels almost as icky as your navel in the South Texas heat…

Here’s some quick things to keep in mind before you get it done…

Don’t slouch, good posture only

Nothing, not even soft clothing, goes over the piercing. A dress or a t shirt is ok, but that’s it. No leggings, jeans, sweats, tight tops, etc.

No crop tops, it gets more exposed to everything blowing around outside

You can’t cover it. That’s how bacteria thrives.

You can’t wash your navel in the shower. Water only. I don’t even really recommend saline too often anymore

You can’t touch, stretch or push on the stomach to check on it

No q tips

No sprays, soaps, alcohol, body wash, lotions

No laying on your stomach

No swimming or being sandy or muddy, so no beach or lake, for 2-3 months. It’s still healing for about 6-12 months, but the outside of the wound isn’t healed enough in 2-3, you still risk infection though

No touching it

Careful with your seatbelt

No loofah

Don’t change it until 6 months + unless your piercer recommends it

Don’t remove it unless you want it gone, not to clean it, even if it’s been a year.

Remember y’all… there isn’t any training, testing or knowledge required to pierce in Texas what so ever. You just get your zoning letter, buy your license online and bam… anyone can do piercings in that building or garage under that license 🥲

No minimum training hours.

So that cute boutique with the aesthetic feed? The nurse-turned-piercer? The franchise with the matching tees? It doesn't mean what you think it means.

Learning to pierce safely takes years.

Mentorships. Medical journals. Wound healing science. Metal compositions. Biochemistry.

Not a weekend. Not 8 weeks. Years.

4 years ago, the neighbors at my original studio caught fire and due to the damage and financial toll it took I had to start over at this little shop on Alameda.

A year later I had a miscarriage. A year after that I lost my very best friend, aside from my husband ofc, my baby boy, my dog of 15 years. Then a year after that a whole friend group and my oldest friendship of 15 years ended in betrayal.

You lose people. You start over. You grow.

7 years ago I took on a ton of debt and opened the very first successful piercing-only studio on the Gulf Coast. I was in survival mode. Burnout mode. I was thriving, but my health got worse.

Almost 20 years ago I created the safe piercing, real jewelry, piercing styling market and introduced the piercing specialist model to Corpus Christi before anyone else, and to this day we’re the only one.

Now people drive hours to get pierced at my studio because they know I'm a piercing specialist and my standards never waver.

I'm so proud of what we've built together. And I can't wait to share my next big project I've been working on. It is my life's work and truly my most meaningful legacy.
