Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day—a soft, meaningful moment to pause and honor the companions who brought endless light, warmth, and joy into our lives.

Once a Golden enters your heart, they stay there forever. Whether they spent a full, long life by your side or only shared a brief chapter with you, every single one left a permanent set of pawprints on our souls. We know how deep the love runs, and we know how heavy the silence feels when they are gone.
To our incredible rescue family: We would love to celebrate their lives together today.

🐾 Please drop a photo in the comments below of your beloved Golden (or angel pup) who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Tell us their name, their favorite quirk, or a happy memory that still makes you smile.

Let’s fill this page with their faces, their stories, and the love they gave us.

🌈 Golden angels are forever in our hearts.🐾🐾

🤎 CHURRO (Winnie) IS ON THE MEND! 🤎

We have one HUGE reason to celebrate: YOU helped make a difference. 🥹

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, shared, supported, and rallied behind Churro and his family, our fundraising goal was reached! 🎉 The financial support provided has greatly reduced the financial stress on Churro’s family during an incredibly difficult and unexpected situation.

Every donation, no matter the size, helped. Every share helped. Every message of encouragement helped. ❤️

From Churro, his family, and all of us at SCGRR — THANK YOU. 🐾

This is exactly what rescue is about: showing up when it matters, supporting our rescue families, and making sure our dogs are surrounded by love — no matter what life throws their way.

Any donations received in excess of what is needed for Churro’s family will be donated directly to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue (SCGRR) to help support the many other dogs in our care who need medical attention, supplies, and a second chance. 🐾🤎

Thank you for helping turn a difficult situation into a story with a very happy ending.

✨ Meet Perdita! ✨

At 5 years old, this petite Golden is ready to be your one-and-only. 🐾💛 Perdita is the ultimate Velcro girl who loves following her people around, going on walks, playing fetch, and soaking up all the love and attention she can get.

She’s sweet, loyal, adventurous, and happiest when her humans are nearby. 🥹 She’s looking for a quieter home where she can be the queen of the castle—with no cats or small critters, please! 👑

Could Perdita be your perfect match? 💛

Happy 7th birthday sweet Winnie!

“I just wanted to share with you that Winnie (aka Giana) is the center of our universe 🩷 Tonight we celebrated her 7th birthday (selected because it’s Winnie the Pooh’s birthday) and she enjoyed it 🎂 She is the sweetest girl.“

Seven-month old, adorable Potato, now Winnie, came into the rescue as an owner surrender.

The first thing we noticed was that Potato did not like to get into a car. She would sit down, or even lie down, and had to be lifted into the car. But, once she was in the car, she was calm and relaxed and laid down like the sweet little Tater that she is.

At first in her new foster home she was a little rambunctious: jumping on people and doing too much mouthing with her gorgeous, but sharp teeth as puppies do. However, after a couple of days, as she grew accustomed to her home, that subsided significantly.

She wasn’t there but a few days when her foster family came to understand what a sweet, well mannered puppy she is—and will become when she matures. She is not upset when people handle her food while she’s eating. In fact, if told to, she will wait when her food is in the dish until given the go-ahead to start. For that matter, she happily shared a meal with one of the foster’s dogs (and got along well with both their dogs and their cat).

Potato was with the fosters throughout her spay recovery - she went through 3 e-collars and the day of her adoption was the day the collar came off for good.

Ah, the adoption. We selected a family of four: two parents and a 6 year old girl and 11 year old boy. From the moment they walked in the house we knew we had made the right choice. Potato was very excited to meet new people and the feeling was mutual. Both the children couldnl’t wait to hug and pet her. When Potato grew excited and jumped on them, they were completely unfazed, understanding that a puppy does that and it’s OK - Tater had found her Tots 🥰

We’ll leave you with a quote from Potato’s new 6 year old sister. While hugging the new dog she said “you’re my new best friend!”

Totally made our day!

One of the first FWITA adopters just sent us a Pupdate and it’s too cute not to share!

She took in Sunny, who was fighting with other dogs and just being a meanie. She and her boyfriend decided to “test drive” Sunny and immediately fell in love. No fighting, no problems - just a wonderful addition to their home.

It has now been a year and out of the blue, she reached out to give us this update:

“We wanted to give you an update and share some photos since it’s already been a year since Sunny’s “Gotcha Day!”. We can’t believe how fast time has flown by. Adopting Sunny was by far the BEST decision we have made. He makes everyday life so much fun and he had no issues fitting right in with our little family. He brings us so much joy and is the biggest cuddle bug ever! We’ve been able to take him on lots of adventures with us too -the beach is his favorite. He’s gotten new toys, a new bed, and lots of treats today to celebrate. We can’t wait to share many more birthdays/gotcha days with him”😊

Our hearts are full!!
