Wallace A404705, a long-timer at the shelter, had the chance to go out for a fun-filled day. He hiked through a nature preserve, made a buddy, and then charmed everyone with his perfect behavior at lunch before returning to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas. Wallace is a great dog that’s spent half of his life at the shelter. Someone please come save this dog!

✨ Meet Mari ✨

After spending over a year in the shelter, gorgeous Mari is finally getting a taste of the good life in a foster home! 💕 Her foster family says she’s been the perfect guest: she quickly figured out that toddlers are the best treat dispensers, went on a family outing to Tractor Supply, and has been enjoying long walks.

Mari has also been friendly with the family’s three dogs, has done well in her crate, and absolutely melts for head scratches. 🐾 Though she’s still a little nervous (understandable after so long in the shelter), her gentle spirit is already shining through.

This gentle shepherd mix has been the definition of “easy like Sunday morning.” 🌿 With her calm, go-with-the-flow nature, she’s the perfect match for a family that loves taking life at a slower pace.

Willa walks well on leash, so strolls have been a breeze. She adores gentle pets, sweet kisses, and of course, treats — but she’s not pushy about asking for attention. ✨

She’s currently sharing her space with another pup and has shown nothing but friendliness toward the dogs she’s met — wagging politely, even when others weren’t so polite back. 🐕

💕Meet Kora – A Gentle Soul Searching for Her Forever Home

Kora is just 2 years old and only 33 lbs., but she carries the weight of a rough past on her tiny shoulders. She came into the shelter in March of this year after being surrendered with several other neglected dogs. At first, she was too scared to even peek out of the back of her kennel, hiding away with her kennel mate, unsure if people could ever be kind, but life changed for Kora when she went into foster care. And slowly, she’s learning that the world isn’t so scary.

🌱 With patience and love, she’s blossoming. Kora is:
✨ House trained
✨ Kennel trained
✨ Gentle with her human and canine friends
✨ Dog friendly with ALL sizes and personalities and very tolerant of energetic puppies (which makes us think that she might do well with cats, too!)
✨ Quiet and calm: she doesn’t bark, but will softly whine to ask for love once she trusts you 🥺

Although Kora is heartworm positive, she’s on prevention now and affordable treatment options are available, so don’t let this hold you back from the sweetest companion. Kora’s gentle spirit is waiting for someone patient who will give her the time she needs to continue to bloom. She’d thrive with a soft-hearted adopter, maybe even alongside another pup to show her the ropes.

MCAS is Your Shelter

MCAS is located at 8535 Hwy 242 in Conroe, TX. The shelter is open 6 days a week for adoptions: Tues-Sun 11:30-5pm and is CLOSED MONDAYS. Intakes are done Tuesday and Wednesday, and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 to 4:00. The shelter does not process intakes from citizens on Monday or Thursday. Citizens turning in animals must be residents of Montgomery County and not reside inside the city limits of Conroe (Conroe residents must surrender animals to the Conroe City Shelter).
