Fancy came in to our shelter as a medical intake. 🩻 X-rays revealed a devasting injury to her pelvis. While you wouldn't know by looking at her, she has multiple fractures to her pelvis. It is unknown just how long she's had these fractures and if they can even be fixed, but time is of the essence to get her an ortho consult.

💃🏼 She still dances around in excitement when someone talks to her and wags her entire body. She is a very petite terrier mix with the cutest scruffy mohawk down her back. She's a very special girl!

Fancy needs a rescue that can get her out ASAP in to the comfort of a foster home 🏠 and to an orthopedic vet 🩺 to see if they can get her all fixed up.

🎵 Bop is still bopping through life... even with a broken jaw. 🎵

💖 Meet Bop, a 7-year-old, 9.6-pound Yorkie mix whose tail never stops wagging and whose spirit refuses to quit.

😯 You would never guess this little guy has a fractured jaw. Bop has been happy, cuddly, eating, and enjoying life as if nothing in the world is bothering him.

🩺 When our veterinary team recently sedated him for a dental procedure, they discovered a heartbreaking surprise. His mouth was in rough shape, with several rotten teeth that needed to be removed. During the procedure, our vets discovered that one diseased tooth was actually the only thing barely holding together an old jaw fracture. Once the tooth was removed, the fracture became unstable. They also found evidence of a healed jaw fracture on the opposite side.

💔 Somehow, this sweet little guy has been carrying on with a broken jaw and never complained.

Despite everything, Bop remains the happiest little man. He loves to cuddle, enjoys his meals, and greets everyone with a wagging tail.

Unfortunately, repairing his jaw and addressing his remaining dental needs will require a veterinary dentist and specialized dental imaging that we cannot provide at the shelter.

We're hoping to find a rescue partner willing to help Bop get the care he deserves. He's already proven he's tougher than anyone imagined. Now he just needs someone to help him get all healed up.

👋🏼 Hi Everybody 👋🏼

My name is Hopper, and while I may be a little wobbly, I'm still a professional stuffy enthusiast. 🧸

💔 I'm just 15 weeks old, but I've already had a pretty rough start. The nice people at the shelter found out that I have multiple old healing fractures in my right hind leg. They're hoping a rescue will step up to help me get an orthopedic consult and figure out the best plan for my future. I may even need my leg amputated, but don't worry, I hear dogs are pretty amazing at getting around on three legs!

Even though my leg isn't quite right, I still love my toys, belly rubs, and all the attention I can get. The shelter says I'm a very good boy, and I think they're right.

🙏 What I really want is a rescue to help me heal and then find me the perfect family to love me forever.

🎉 Happy Update: All 3 have been tagged by rescue!!!!

💔 THREE SENIOR HEARTS NEED A SOFT PLACE TO LAND 💔

This is one of those surrenders that breaks our hearts.

Due to a medical emergency, their beloved owner was placed into a care facility and had to make the heartbreaking decision to surrender her three cherished companions. These sweet seniors have lost everything familiar and now find themselves searching for a new family to love.

🐾 Victoria, 13 years old, was adopted from our shelter back in 2013. After spending over a decade in a loving home, she never imagined she'd be back here.
🐾 Bobby, 11 years old, may only have one eye, but don't tell him that! It certainly doesn't slow him down, and his happy spirit shines through every day.
🐾 Ruby, 8 years old, is the baby of the group. She's a little shy when meeting new people, but once she trusts you, she'll be your most devoted shadow.

All three are heartworm negative, love being around people, enjoy leisurely walks together, and still have plenty of s***k and love left to give. They would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time because being close to their humans is what they love most.

These three have spent many years together, and while we know finding a home for all three may be a challenge, it would be incredibly special if they could remain together. That said, our greatest wish is simply for each of them to find a loving home, foster, rescue, or adopter willing to give them the comfort and security they deserve.

Please help us share their story. Senior dogs have so much love left to give, and these three deserve a happy ending after losing the only family they've ever known.

🎉 Happy Update: Matilda left with rescue!

✨Look How Far She's Come!!✨

💖 Matilda's Inspiring Behavior Update 💖

A little over a week ago, we did a final plea for this sweet senior girl. Shelter life had been overwhelming for her, and she was struggling to show us who she truly was.

Since then, she’s made such beautiful progress.

She began seeking out attention from staff, allowing people to pick her up, and slowly letting her sweet personality shine through. A few days ago, she moved into a temporary foster home, and while she was nervous at first, it only took about 36 hours for this s***ky old gal to settle in and start nudging her foster’s hand for love and attention. ❤️

In foster care, she has also shown us that she is already potty trained and knows how to use a doggie door like a pro! 🚽

🐕 She’s done very well with other dogs too, especially one-on-one interactions.

🩺 This precious girl still needs a rescue partner or an adopter that can get her to a specialist. She has a heart murmur, hip dysplasia, and possible CCL tear, but she continues to prove she is so much more than her medical notes.

🙏 Her final plea ends tomorrow at the end of the day. Please help us find a rescue willing to see what we’re finally seeing. She's a loving little dog whose personality is finally shining through. 🌟

❤️‍🩹🆘 PEPPER IS EXTREMELY ILL AND WE DON'T KNOW WHY-- HAS UNTIL END OF DAY TODAY 5/27 OR WILL BE HUMANELY EUTHANIZED AT 5PM 🆘

ONLY 3 YEARS OLD!!!

Pepper came to us on 5/9 at 42lbs. Just 17 days later, she now weighs 27lbs. Pepper is hooked up to an IV to keep her stable as our medical staff pleads for a rescue to step up. Pepper needs more than the shelter can provide. As a municipal shelter, we have run out of resources to save this girl.

Pepper's bloodwork came back showing high calcium levels of unknown origin. This could be any number of things including cancer but we won't know unless Pepper sees an internist IMMEDIATELY!

Vet techs walk in to piles on vomit in her kennel, untouched food, and worsening symptoms with no origin. There's no way to sugarcoat that this beautiful dog who was adopted less than a week ago sits wasting away in her kennel while we desperately search for help.

Pepper needs ***RESCUE ONLY*** with pick up ***TODAY*** or we'll be forced to end her extreme suffering.

📣SHORT TERM FOSTERS NEEDED! 📚☀️ SCHOOL’S OUT… and your routine is already ruined anyway!

The kids are home. The house is loud. Nobody knows what day it is. Snacks are disappearing at alarming rates.

So honestly? This is the perfect time to add a foster dog.

We are looking for short-term transport fosters for dogs leaving on upcoming transports. Most dogs only need a foster home for a few nights or a couple weeks before heading north to rescue partners and adopters waiting for them.

🐾Transport fostering is:

• Supplies provided
• A great excuse to leave the house for “walks” when everyone starts driving you insane

🐾And unlike your children, foster dogs:
• Usually sleep through the night
• Think you’re funny

Built For One Heart 💖 One Home 🏠 One Best Friend🧍🏽

🐕 Lyanna came to us carrying more than most dogs should ever have to. At just three years old, she arrived with severe skin issues, later tested positive for heartworms 🪱, and underwent surgery to remove a mast cell tumor from her mandible. Through it all, she has continued to fight forward with quiet resilience.

Her skin has improved tremendously with care and treatment, though she still continues to battle ongoing dermatitis. During her time in the shelter, she has also shown us that she needs to be the only pet in the home. We know that may make finding her person more difficult, but we also know her perfect match is out there.

What she has made abundantly clear is this: she absolutely adores people and treats, and she loves with her whole heart. She isn’t looking to share the spotlight with any other pets, as she’s looking to be someone’s one and only, their constant companion, their best friend.

She’s waited long enough. Now she just needs someone willing to choose her!!

🚨 Final Plea: Matilda Needs A Rescue Tag by 6/2/26 🚨

🐕 Sweet Matilda came into our shelter as a stray on April 22 covered in severely matted fur. She was very nervous and anxious when she arrived, and the shelter environment has been overwhelming for her. While she was initially pretty nippy with staff, Matilda has made so much progress during her stay and has slowly started warming up to the people caring for her every day.

As she has started to feel safer, her sweet personality has really begun to shine through. Matilda loves belly rubs, enjoys sun bathing, and absolutely loves to play. Watching her slowly learn to trust and enjoy the little things again has been incredibly rewarding. She is looking for a rescue or adopter willing to continue giving her the patience, understanding, and time she needs to keep building confidence and feeling secure.

🩺 Matilda is also dealing with several medical concerns. She has lameness, and X-rays🩻noted a possible left CCL tear along with hip dysplasia. She would greatly benefit from an orthopedic consultation, behavior permitting. She also has a pronounced grade 5/6 left-sided heart murmur 💔 that will likely need additional evaluation and could complicate future anesthesia or surgical planning.

Matilda needs care beyond what the shelter can provide and deserves the chance to receive the medical support, stability, and love she needs to truly thrive. 🏠

💔 Sad update: Baby Oliver passed away overnight 💔

🚨 Oliver Has Already Been Resuscitated Once!! He Needs Rescue NOW!!! He Needs Out TODAY!! 🚨

🐈 Oliver is just a tiny 3-week-old kitten with a heartbreaking start to life. He was found yesterday inside the engine of a car, and somehow suffered severe injuries along the way. Part of his little ears have been burned or torn away, and he has a large wound on his back.

When Oliver arrived, he stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated. He’s currently not eating well, requires tube feeding, and is struggling to maintain his body temperature.

This little boy is fighting hard, but he needs more than we can provide in a shelter setting. We urgently need a rescue to step up for Oliver within the next few hours.
