This is a friendly reminder that there are maps for the trails at each trail head in the kiosks. If you’ve never ridden the trail, you should probably take a map. You can also go to Vilas County Map it. The trail maps are not numbered on the Vilas County Map It.

Scholarship opportunity!

Some words from Shelby Litwin, Lainie's sister. If you are interested in applying for one of these scholarships, you will find the application below. Thank you!

I’m writing to share a heartfelt tribute to my beloved sister, Lainie, whose spirit continues to inspire us all. As many of you know, Lainie passed away at the young age of 28, but her passion for life and love for horses live on through a scholarship we are honored to present in her name. This scholarship will support a deserving horse enthusiast in achieving their dreams, a cause that was close to Lainie's heart.
Lainie was not just my sister; she was my confidante and my greatest teacher. She taught me to love all animals and always made time for a chat when you needed it. Her love for music was infectious, spanning all genres, and it remains a cherished connection between us. Although she moved to California after high school, and our visits were limited to Thanksgiving and occasional trips, the bond we shared was unbreakable.
Lainie faced her own struggles with addiction from a young age, and perhaps she distanced herself to shield us from that battle. Despite these challenges, her heart remained pure and full of love. When I began my pony training business, I named a pony after her—Neil, with the show name Champlain Heart of Gold. Neil embodies the heart Lainie had, much like the one Neil Young sang about. Every child who leases Neil carries a piece of Lainie's legacy with them.
We are taught to give back, and in doing so, I always think of how it might benefit others. This scholarship is a testament to Lainie's enduring spirit and her love for the equestrian world. Her legacy will continue to inspire and empower future generations of horse enthusiasts.
G-d Speed, Lainie Beth. Fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell.
May the four winds blow you safely home.
With love and gratitude,
Shelby Litwin and Family— with Pamela Litwin and Amy Litwin at Pine Ridge Equestrian Center, LLC.

If anyone wants to ride and check out some of the trails that aren’t cleared yet from the storm last Monday, here is a map. All the yellow marks are done. So from 29 to 19 all the way through to 28 and then back to 24 need to be checked for fallen trees. 32 by the campground heading left around that loop to 33 and then follow that all the way around to 37. All of the pioneer Creek Trail system needs to be checked. Let me know if you can do any of those. Thank you.
