Rode Ski Hill trail late Wednesday afternoon. Trail is mowed and very few bugs. Rode Torch Lake Trail from River Road Equestrian campground Thursday morning. Main trail is mowed and they are working some of the other trails there. Again great ride and very few flies. River Road is pretty rough so drive slow. Come stay at our campground and enjoy the trails.

We are having a fun ride Sunday, August 24. We will be leaving River Road equestrian campground at 9:30 and ride the Torch Lake trails. Anyone is welcome to come and ride with us. Some of us are camping overnight the 23rd. Hope to see you there.

We will be having a fundraiser brat sale at Trig’s Saturday, August 16, from 10 until 2. Come on down and help support the club. All proceeds go to maintaining and improving trails.

Exciting News!

The Northern Saddle club will be a participant in the Florence County Fair on Sunday August 24th. The arena is open for us to show off our stunning horses, highlight our trailers and demonstrate the various tack used. Let's put our heads together and make this a fun time for us and spectators. Your help is needed in planning, organizing and participating. A kickoff meeting to plan & organize will take place ++++Monday August 4th at 5pm at Pat and Sharon Petraska's home.++++
We will be brainstorming during this time so please join us or send in your thoughts and suggestions.
If you are interested in presenting with your horse during this time, please let us know, you will need a current coggins test and if you are from Michigan a current health certificate as well.

Some ideas so far are
-Set up a mock camping experience, a few trailers, portable fencing, etc. This would be interactive as they will be able to view the interiors of the trailers.
-Breed demonstration, let's show off our unique diversity of our horses and what we use them for.
-Saddle display, show off the different types of saddles and what they are used for.
-Perhaps bobbing for apples or something fun for the kids!
-Highlight our new maps, signs and brochures
-Sell T-shirts
-Possible donation or raffle event as a fundraiser for the day

It's really a clean slate; we have 3 weeks to plan-act-do..... so please attend the meeting or send a message via email ( [email protected] ) if you would like to participate at this event.
We will be notifying the Florence County Fair with what they can expect so that they can advertise our presence as well. Free admission on Sunday for all participants as well. Any questions, please feel free to contact myself at 715-889-9409.

We had an awesome group ride from River Rd. Campground up to Ski Hill Loop, Road the loop and then back to the campground 9.6 miles. Just under three hours.

Looks like Sunday is going to be a perfect day for a fun ride. Leaving River Road Equestrian Campground at 9:00. We are we riding to Ski Hill trail and riding that loop. Join us for a fun ride.

We are doing a fun ride Sunday, July 20. This is a fun ride for anyone who wants to ride with a group .This is not an organized event. We will be leaving River Road Equestrian campground at 9:00 and riding up to Ski Hill trail, riding Ski Hill trail then back to campground. If you want to meet up with us at Ski Hill trail head be there at about 9:30. There isn’t as much room for parking at Ski Hill yet. Hope to see you there.
