The highest compliment a client can give us is a referral of a fellow horse owner. We appreciate the trust you place with NBEA for your horse's care.

Happy International Corgi Day to our favorite low-riders with the biggest personalities!

If you've spent any time around horse barns, you've probably met a corgi or two. With their fearless attitudes, endless energy, and talent for keeping a close eye on everything happening around the farm, corgis have earned their place as beloved barn dogs everywhere.

Today we're celebrating these lovable little legends and all the joy, laughs, and wiggles they bring to our lives. Share your favorite corgi photo in the comments and help us celebrate! ❤️🐶

What a unique—and ultimately rewarding—three days at the NEDA Dressage Spring Show at the beautiful Fieldstone Showgrounds!

Despite some wild weather on Saturday, a "little" wind and rain couldn't stop riders, horses, and supporters from making it a memorable weekend. We were proud to be there supporting our clients and celebrating some incredible accomplishments.

🏆 Nouvelle, owned by Jane Gannon and ridden by Colleen O'Connor-Dzik , on their personal best score of 65.435% in the Grand Prix.

🥉 Recess, owned by Linda Hass and ridden by Katherine Besse, on a fantastic 70.357% score in Second Level Test 3 and earning Katherine's USDF Bronze Medal.

⭐ Lucifer, owned by Danielle Evans-Cole and ridden by Maddie Evans-Cole, on excellent tests and qualifying for Regionals.

We love seeing the hard work, dedication, and partnership between horse and rider pay off. Congratulations to all of our clients whose horses competed—we are honored to be part of your journey and can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings!

When you're a vet, you never miss an opportunity for some baby kisses from little Dorothy and, of course, saying hi to the resident donkeys!

Thanks Jessica Belsito for letting us love on Dorothy!

A good vet never leaves another good vet behind. ❤️

Even though Dr. Shen and Dr. Boulay were The Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center interns five years apart, there’s a special bond that comes from surviving the same internship trenches back in the day. So when Dr. Boulay of Middlesex Equine, LLC needed an extra hand while her trusty right-hand woman, Heather, is out of commission, Dr. Shen and her tech Jess were happy to step in and help get the job done.
Because the horse world is small, good teammates matter, and MidAtlantic interns stick together.

Poisonous Plants in the Field & On the Trail

Trail rides and grazing time are great for horses, but fields and wooded trails can sometimes contain hidden dangers. Toxic plants such as buttercup, foxglove, wild cherry, bracken fern, and yew may grow in pastures, along trail edges, or in overgrown areas.

Horses are more likely to sample unfamiliar plants during drought conditions, overgrazed pastures, or when forage is limited. Taking time to identify potentially harmful plants in your riding and grazing areas can help reduce the risk of poisoning.

Knowing what’s growing where your horse spends time is one of the best ways to protect their health. If you notice unusual symptoms after grazing or riding, contact your veterinarian right away.

Stay safe and enjoy the trails responsibly. 🌿
