Say hello to Jess, the newest member of NBEA’s team and Dr. Shen's new assistant! 👋🐴

Jess started her equestrian journey at age 11 with pony camp and has been hooked ever since. She’s worked at Eureka Dressage Farm for several years as well as leased a whole parade of colorful draft crosses.

When she’s not in the barn, you’ll find her reeling in largemouth bass from her boyfriend’s boat or hanging out with her rescue pup Pepper (aka “Bean”) 🐶. She also played field hockey through college, so she’s no stranger to hustle and teamwork.

We’re thrilled to have her on board—drop a comment to welcome Jess to the crew and be sure to say hi when you see her at your farm!

We’re so proud of all the riders who’ve been working hard, learning, and showing up with heart. Whether it’s your first ribbon or your tenth clear round, every step forward is worth celebrating!

Please join us in congratulating Sheena, our incredible marketing manager and technician, on her nomination as Secretary for the AAEVT-American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and Assistants for the 2026-2027 term!

This well-deserved appointment by the AAEVT executive board reflects Sheena’s unwavering dedication and leadership. For the past three years, she’s served as the Regional Contact for most of New England, and now she’s stepping into a national role in this outstanding organization that champions equine health through education and professional support for veterinary technicians and assistants.

We’re so proud of her and can’t wait to see the positive impact she’ll continue to make. Way to go, Sheena! 💙🐴

🐴 Heat Stress Awareness! 🔥
With our third major heat wave of the summer, it is important to be reminded of the best hot weather practices for keeping your horse (and you) safe and not overheated.

When the heat index (°F + % humidity) hits 150, slow down. At 170+, skip the workout. Be sure to keep in mind your horse's age, fitness level, and overall health as another important gauge for their heat tolerance.

Watch for body temps over 104°F, rapid breathing, high pulse & dehydration.

Cool your horse by hosing with cool water. Keep your equine partner safe during these heat waves.

Sunday Horse Show Vibes✨ A well-run event by Course Brook Farm !

Yesterday’s horse trials were 🔥—and yes, the afternoon heat turned up! But nothing a little ring dust (and a LOT of iced coffee) couldn’t fix.

Hats off to Sheena for setting ICED COFFEE STATION 🥤—a cool sip and a boost of energy kept the day flowing smoothly. If you missed out, don’t worry… we’ll be back at the next one. Come find us and caffeinate like a champ!

📸 Sheena and Jenna also snapped some beautiful moments of our clients and horses throughout the day. (We CAN confirm new addition Frankie was there and got some good belly rubs 😉) Dr. Shen even stopped by for a bit to say hello!

🐾 The NBEA family just got a little fluffier... and a whole lot cuter!

Please help us give a warm welcome to Franklin—aka Frankie the Corgi! He’s the newest four-legged recruit in Dr. Fred and Erin’s pack, and he’s already winning hearts.

Big sis Fiona, our seasoned horse farm dog, is showing him the ropes—from barn manners to strategic napping in sunny spots. So far, Frankie’s been fitting in like a veteran horse on show day.

We can’t wait for you all to meet this handsome little guy at future events—he’s got charm, stubby legs, and a tail-wagging spirit that screams “future barn boss.”

Sunday perfection at the Summer Show! Sheena was set up bright and early with the NBEA tent, chatting with clients and soaking in the positive energy from the always-welcoming NEDA staff and volunteers. Dr. Cory came by later in the morning to measure a pony.
We are looking forward to being at the Fall Kickoff Show in September!
