Quick update from the herd!

Our raffle is still going strong as we work toward getting our pregnant Jennys home safe and comfortable where they belong. We only have $1,400 left to raise before we can bring them back to the sanctuary!

❤️ Happy Monday, Herd! ❤️

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

We wanted to share a few exciting updates from the sanctuary. Thanks to your support,Burros Jerome and Grace and horses Valentino, Iceman, and Stormy have all made it home! Seeing them settled in and enjoying their new surroundings has been such a blessing.

We're also hopeful that Yarrow will be able to come home this weekend or next. He has been doing incredibly well and has proven to be a very willing and easy partner to work with. Before he comes home, we'd like to get him a good hoof trim so he's set up for success. Then he can finally be reunited with his buddies where he belongs. ❤️

While we're making great progress bringing everyone home, we still need your help with our foaling stall fundraiser. Our expectant moms are getting bigger every day, and we want to make sure safe, secure foaling stalls are ready before the babies arrive.

❤️ Progress Doesn't Stop ❤️

We didn't receive any donations yesterday, but that doesn't mean the work stops.

Every day we're out here improving this property and building a better future for the animals who will call it home. We discovered an old, dilapidated shed hidden beneath overgrown vines and trees.

With a lot of hard work and cleanup, this area will eventually become a natural windbreak and shelter for one of our future pastures. It's just one more step toward creating safe, comfortable spaces for our horses and b***os.

But before we can focus on future pastures, we need to get our Jennys home. ❤️

Wow, herd, you all are amazing! ❤️

Thanks to your generosity, we've already raised $320 toward our foaling stall project! That means we're already well on our way to getting the panels and gates we need before our moms-to-be welcome their babies into the world.

Every day our girls get a little bigger, and every donation gets us a little closer to having safe, secure foaling stalls ready when those tiny hooves hit the ground. 🐴💕

Watching Bisbee and Wyatt enjoy their new pasture today hit me harder than I expected.

Seeing them roll in the grass, kick up their heels, and simply enjoy being b***os near the pond we'll soon be replacing reminded me of just how far we've come.

I fought so hard to make it work in Arizona. I poured everything I had into that dream. Every setback, every late night, every dollar, every ounce of energy—I gave it everything. Walking away was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made.

But standing here today, watching these boys enjoy green grass, room to roam, and a future full of possibilities, I can't help but feel grateful. Sometimes the path we planned isn't the path we're meant to take. As difficult as this journey has been, I truly believe being here was for the best.

Every fence we've built, every gate we've hung, and every pasture we've created has been possible because of people who believe in this mission and continue to support these animals.

We are currently raising funds for our foaling stalls and have an incredible opportunity to purchase discounted panels for just $80 each and gates for $85 each. Our goal is to purchase 20 panels and 5 gates so we can safely house our expecting moms and future foals.

Now that the b***os are settled into their new pasture, we can finally turn our attention back to their previous temporary pasture. 🌱

As you can see, it has been heavily overgrazed. When animals spend too much time in a pasture, they can eat the grass faster than it can recover, leaving behind bare spots, compacted soil, and less desirable plant growth. The good news? It can be fixed!

Our first step is filling and leveling some of the holes to create a safer surface. Next, we'll be dragging the pasture with a harrow to break up and spread manure and leftover hay more evenly across the field. This helps return nutrients to the soil, improves decomposition, and encourages more even pasture growth over time.

Pasture management isn't always exciting, but it's one of the most important parts of keeping our animals healthy. Healthy land grows healthy forage, and healthy forage helps support healthy animals. 💚
