🌿 Aquascaping Tip of the Day 🌿

Starting a new tank? Load it up with as many plants as possible! 💚

Fresh aquarium soil is packed with ammonia and nutrients — great for plants, but also a party invitation for algae if you’re not careful. The more plants you add from the start, the faster your tank’s ecosystem will stabilize. Healthy plant growth helps absorb excess nutrients and outcompete algae, keeping your water crystal clear.

Think of it as nature’s way of fast-tracking balance! 🌱🐠

Q: How do you clean and maintain lush plants in a full planted tank?

A: Well… you could uproot everything. 😅

But seriously, one tried-and-true method is:

🌿 Trim and Replant!
When your plants are growing like wild underwater jungles, it’s time to give them a little haircut. Instead of fighting the tangled roots and old stems:
1. Uproot the whole plant
2. Snip off the bottom gunky part (roots/stems that are too long or melting)
3. Replant the lush, healthy tops like new cuttings

This keeps your aquascape clean, your substrate fresh, and your tank looking showroom ready. 💇‍♂️🌱

It’s basically gardening… but underwater. 🐠
