Taking your dog for a walk or going out in public to a class or an event should be fun, not stressful. If you’re having issues, we can help! Sky Dogs is having a Reactive Dog class that is starting Sunday, August 2nd. The class will meet from 5:00 to 6:00 PM for six weeks. The cost for the class is $350.
My goal in this class is to help change your dog’s emotional response to stimuli, so that instead of working from a negative emotion, we can retrain their brains to associate positive emotions with their triggers. Through this process, will also give you management tools to help your dog, and make you very aware of what your dog is thinking about before they actually go there, so that you can intervene. The first class will be without dogs, and we will practice techniques on a non-reactive dog. The next class will be short private lessons so that we can have some one on one time and make sure that you understand our processes, and the last four classes will be group classes, using distance and visual barriers to keep the dogs under threshold as we work to get positive responses from the dogs in a group setting.
