Strings, ribbons, and other linear objects can be dangerous for cats. When swallowed, they can cause serious internal damage. If caught early, we can perform an endoscopic procedure, which is much less invasive than surgery. So, if you suspect your cat has ingested something, seek veterinary care immediately!

Halloween Injuries: When a Little Fun Turns Into a Big Problem 🎃🐾
Halloween can be a fun time for the whole family, but some of the holiday's biggest hazards can lead to injuries that require veterinary care.

Watch out for:

🎃 Decorations & electrical cords — Curious pets may chew cords or swallow small decorations.

🍫 Chocolate & candy — Keep all Halloween treats securely out of reach.

🐕 Costumes — Make sure costumes don't restrict movement or contain pieces your pet could swallow.

🚪 Open doors — Nervous or excited pets may try to escape when trick-or-treaters arrive.

🦴 Unexpected injuries — Excited pets can also be at greater risk for falls, collisions, or other injuries during a busy evening.

If your pet gets into something they shouldn't or experiences an injury, contact your primary veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital for guidance. If your pet has been referred to our specialty team, we're here to provide advanced care when it's needed.
