We are sending out dogs left & right for Cribs: Foster Edition 😍 Our goal is to get all 40 main kennels cleared at our animal services building so that sound-absorbing baffling can be installed over the holiday weekend.

We are at 20/40 dogs so far - let’s keep the momentum going!

🚨 URGENT: MAX CAPACITY 🚨

Our Animal Services Division is full, and stray dogs continue to arrive every day. We urgently need our community's help getting lost pets back where they belong.

⚠️ The dogs pictured are currently on stray hold and are NOT available for adoption at this time. They are waiting for their families to find them.

If you are missing a pet, please check our Lost & Found page regularly. If you recognize one of these dogs, please help us connect them with their family. And even if you don't recognize them, PLEASE SHARE. One share could be the one that reaches the right person.

Every reunification matters. When a lost dog returns home, it not only reunites a family — it also opens desperately needed kennel space for another animal arriving in our care.

URGENT BOLO: STORM — PLEASE SHARE

Please be on the lookout for Storm, who got away from her foster home around 3:00 AM this morning in the Garrowen Street area of Columbus, GA.

Storm ran off into the woods and was last seen wearing a pink collar with a Paws foster tag.

PLEASE DO NOT CHASE, APPROACH, OR ATTEMPT TO CATCH HER.

If you see Storm:
Keep your distance and do not chase
Note the exact location and direction she is traveling
If possible, safely take a photo
Report the sighting to us immediately

REPORT ALL SIGHTINGS:

Let’s take a look at our August numbers!

Every adoption, reunion, foster placement, rescue transfer, and positive outcome represents an animal whose life was changed — and none of it happens without our community.

In August alone, 391 animals entered our care: 177 dogs and 214 cats. Of those, 361 came to us as strays or animals at large.

One trend continues to stand out: intake remains incredibly high.

Animal overpopulation continues to put tremendous pressure on shelters and resources throughout our community. Every day, more dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens need somewhere to go. While we’re proud of every positive outcome, the need for help remains critical.

Thank you for continuing to show up for the animals who need us. Every single one of these numbers represents a life.
