Our team doesn’t just work to find homes for pets in the shelter — we also work hard to keep them in the homes they already have!

Our Animal Services Officers regularly partner with our Outreach Department to support pet owners in the community, helping them overcome barriers that might otherwise lead to impoundments or surrenders.

In this photo, one of our officers is setting up a safe and secure trolley system for a pet owner, making sure her dogs can enjoy the outdoors and stay in compliance with city ordinances.

This kind of proactive work helps keep families together and reduces the number of animals coming into the shelter in the first place — a win for everyone involved. 🐶❤️🐾

This morning, there were happy tears all around as our dedicated team said goodbye and sent her off with Animal SOS to find the loving family she’s been dreaming of. ❤️

At around 4 years old, Cinnamon was sadly left behind when her owner moved away. Despite the hardships she has faced, she is still affectionate, loyal, and now ready for a fresh start with a family who’ll love her forever.

Cinnamon is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, up to date on preventions, AND her adoption fee is waived for approved applicants in the month of June!

If you have other pets at home, we recommend a meet and greet—Cinnamon tends to do best with easygoing dog friends who respect her vibe. 🐶✨

🌞 𝑺𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒉’𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 🌞

We’re declaring today Sarah’s Sunday — because if any dog deserves her own day, it’s this girl. And honestly, she says the only thing that would make it perfect is finding her forever home. 💛

Sarah was found roaming as a stray with a makeshift tether system painfully wrapped around her neck, leaving a deep laceration. But that’s all behind her now — she’s healing up well and hasn’t let her past hold her back one bit. Her joyful spirit shines through in everything she does!

She’s the best of both worlds: playful and spunky when it’s time to go out and explore, and snuggly and chill when you’re ready to unwind. Oh, and she gives the best hugs — real paws-around-you kind of hugs. 🐾💕

Let’s make this 𝑺𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒉’𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 to remember. Come meet her and see if she’s the missing piece in your life! Paws is open from 1-5pm today. All adoption fees are WAIVED for approved applicants throughout the month of June.
