Most stray pets are actually found very close to home—often just a few blocks away! That’s why it’s so important to:

🔍 Check your neighborhood thoroughly
📢 Post flyers nearby and on local social media groups
📍 Visit local shelters and check websites like ours daily
🐶 Walk or drive around during quieter hours when your pet might feel safe to come out

Your pet might be closer than you think! If you’ve found a stray, chances are their family is nearby!

Here are some tips if your pet is lost:
✅ Visit our website and check the Lost & Found tab to see if your pet has been picked up by our Animal Services Division.
✅ Follow our Lost/Found Pets of Muscogee County page for daily updates on animals found in the area.

Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their families as quickly as possible. Please share to help get these animals home where they belong! 🏡❤️

We sent out an SOS for towels and the response was 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐘. We’re talking carloads, baskets, stacks on stacks—we couldn’t even fit all the donations into one photo because YOU SHOWED UP THAT HARD.

We are absolutely, completely, over-the-moon blown away. We are now stocked up with towels & blankets- thanks to YOU.

A HUGE THANK YOU from every animal in the shelter, and from Avatar (our towel-loving superstar), who says:

A Happy Tail: Baby Girl Finds Her Way Home 🐾❤️

After months apart, Baby Girl— known as Zena to us —has finally made it back to the arms of the family who loves her.

This sweet senior pup found herself at our Animal Services Division back in December as a stray. Despite her gentle nature and soulful eyes, no one came forward to claim her. But what we didn’t know was that her family was looking. Her dad had been searching tirelessly through the neighborhood and community, never giving up hope that he’d one day find her.

Then one day, while browsing our website, he saw a familiar face—Baby Girl. Without hesitation, he rushed to the shelter, and what followed was one of the most touching reunions we've seen.

Baby Girl lit up the moment she saw him, tail wagging and full of joy. And the smile on her dad’s face said it all—relief, happiness, and overwhelming love. After months of worry and separation, they were finally together again.

These are the moments that make everything worth it. Welcome home, Baby Girl. 💕🐶

Huge thanks to the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries for their continued support and for helping us bring stories (and snuggles) to life. Our Paws alumni, Addie, was the star of the show—she loved seeing all the kids and was more than happy to hand out kisses and tail wags! 💕🐶

🚨 TOWEL EMERGENCY: THIS IS NOT A DRILL 🚨

Our cleaning efforts have left us down to our last washcloth and clinging to the final frayed threads of a once-plush towel. Blankets? Let’s just say the few survivors are looking a little… well-loved.

We’re sending out a full-blown CRY FOR HELP (cue dramatic music 🎻)

𝐖𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐒, 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐒, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐄𝐓𝐒—𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓.
Used and clean? Perfect. A little ugly? We love ‘em. Holey but still holding on? Even better.

If you've got extras hiding in your linen closet, please consider donating them to help us care for the many sick pups we’re nursing back to health. Every fluffy square of fabric helps us keep our critters warm, dry, and clean in the face of this parvo-palooza.
