Contact Team Greyhound for adoption information
4 Legs 4 Hounds is registered in Ohio as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our mission is to give medical care to injured greyhounds. This includes surgery and support throughout their recovery and rehabilitation. The Ohio State 4 Legs 4 Hounds Greyhound Program is a non-profit 501(c)3. The goal of the program is to surgically repair the greyhounds broken leg. After surgery, when the greyhound has been medically stabilized, the greyhound will be placed in a local medical foster home. The foster home will be advised as to what medical care and rehabilitation the Orthopedic Surgeon has recommended for the greyhound. The medical foster home will bring the greyhound back to the Veterinary Hospital for medical care and follow-up as recommended by the Orthopedic Surgeon. The medical foster home will have regular contact with the Veterinary Hospital to discuss any medical issues between follow-up visits. When the greyhound is medically released by the Orthopedic Surgeon, the greyhound will be placed with a local adoption group. The adoption group will evaluate the greyhounds personality, needs and small animal test the greyhound. When these are known the adoption group will look for a forever home that is compatible with the greyhound. The forever home will need to know the greyhound is a 4 Legs 4 Hounds greyhound. They must agree to contact the adoption group if any medical issues arise with the surgically repaired leg. The must know to keep in contact with the adoption group as the greyhound will need to return to the Veterinary Hospital to have the plate that was inserted during surgery removed.

For this week’s pupdate, we have a few new faces! First up is Gypsy! She is a very good, down to earth girl. As of Monday she will be headed to a long term foster while she recovers. Our next pupdate is Houdini! Houdini is still in recovery and is searching for his long term foster! He’s a very good boy but is looking for some stability and routine. If interested in fostering Houdini, please contact foster coordinator Morgan at [email protected]. Lastly, we have a small update on Lexi who has made it to her forever home with her brother Jethro (formally Mikey) 🐶

‼️Some reminders for anyone coming to the Team Greyhound picnic and fundraiser on Sunday‼️

‼️Some reminders for the picnic/fundraiser on Sunday‼️

-If you haven't registered yet, please do so, now! You do not want to miss out on all of the auctions, raffles, food and camaraderie.

-This is a GREYHOUND only event.

-Bring a muzzle. Your greyhound must be muzzled for turnout in the fully fenced enclosure.

-Bring a chair for yourself, a blanket or bed for your greyhound and some p**p bags. We will all need to clean up after our dogs.

-We can take checks or cash at the picnic for the raffles and auctions.

-You might want to bring a bowl and some water for your greyhound. Not sure if the hydrant is working.

-Be prepared to enjoy a beautiful fall outing. Hopefully, you will win some cool items to take home with you!

Team Greyhound is the central Ohio based adoption group responsible for placing all the 4L4H dogs you see here. If you’re local, consider attending this one-of-a-kind greyhound event coming up in just over a month.

Thanks for your support in keeping this very important partnership going strong!

Short foster friday for the first week of school!

Red has been doing well in his foster! His foster writes “Red is a big goofball and a gentle giant. He has been adjusting to home life very well and is friendly, happy, and very very curious!! He loves his foster brother Linguine and is a collector of all things, especially toys, shoes, books, and pictures”.

Rainbow has been adopted by his foster! We’re super happy for him🐶🥳

Lastly, Mae is living her best life in her foster!
