🎉 Happy Gotcha Day, Ruby! ❤️🐈‍⬛

One year ago, Ruby’s story changed forever.

As a tiny kitten, she was found right here in Columbiana, sitting along the side of the road and meowing for help. During a casual run through town, her now family heard her cries, scooped her up, and brought her to safety. They searched for her owner, hoping to reunite her with her family, but when no one came forward, Ruby had already found exactly where she belonged.

Now, one year later, she’s living her best life as a spoiled house cat, surrounded by love, cozy naps, and all the comforts of her forever home. ❤️

Cheers to one year of purrs, cuddles, and happily-ever-after adventures, Ruby! 🥂🐾 We can’t wait to see what the next year brings for this lucky little girl. 💕🐈‍⬛

🐾🚶 Walk Your Dog Month Tip: Walking a Reactive Dog 🚶🐾

Does your dog bark, lunge, stare, or get overly excited when they see another dog on a walk? You're not alone! Here are a few simple tips to help make walks calmer and more enjoyable:

✅ Distance is your friend. Give your dog enough space to notice triggers without becoming overwhelmed.

✅ Watch for early warning signs:• Staring• Stiff body posture• Freezing• Closed mouth• Ears forward

✅ Don't wait for the reaction. Move away early before barking or lunging begins.

✅ Teach a happy U-turn. A cheerful "This way!" can help you calmly change directions when needed.

✅ Use treats to redirect attention. Toss a few treats on the ground and let your dog sniff them out.

✅ Remember: not every dog needs to say hello. Learning to calmly pass other dogs is a valuable skill.

✅ Keep walks positive. Progress is built through small wins and consistency.

Most importantly, focus on building confidence and connection with your dog—not perfection. Every calm choice is a step in the right direction! 🐕💙
