Before heading out, try the 7-second test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

A few ways to keep your pup safe:
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Stick to grass, dirt trails, or shaded paths when possible
🐾 Bring water for both of you
🐾 Check paws for redness or irritation after walks
