Good luck to all the bear hunters this year!
As always proper field care is important!
Get the bear skinned out and cooled down ASAP.
Get the hide in a freezer as soon as you can, but don’t roll it up tight, lay it out open and flat so it cools all the way through. Before it freezes fold it up loosely.
If cooling down with ice, frozen water bottles are best because you want to keep it dry as well. Moisture and warmth create an environment where bacteria can grow and this will cause hair to slip.
