The Cape Buffalo..."Africa's Black Death"..Robert Ruark said, "A cape buffalo looks at you like you owe him money"...I've tried to capture that look in this mount. This buffalo was shot by a hunter in Zimbabwe but he never picked up the tanned cape or horns. It makes a nice addition to the other African game in the den.

Well.......she didn't make the cover of the "Rolling Stones" but Sheba, my 4 year old lab did make page 21 of the Dec. 2020 "Retriever Journal". Nice flush and retrieve on a rooster next to our house....good girl. (Will be signing pictures for her on request...haha!) Merry Christmas to all from High Plains Taxidermy!

Kansas Governor's Ringneck Classic November 16, 2019. 15 teams participated in the hunt that Saturday. The team that I guided consisted of two from Colorado, two from Pennsylvania, and two from Nebraska. Our take included (1) quail, (14) pheasant, and (1) Mule deer non-typical shed! Lots of shots and lots of birds....good time had by all. Steve Hundley, Orvis Denver manager and his dog, Moose. This was first retrieve for Moose.
