Building Confidence, One Experience at a Time!

Keeping our puppies safe while introducing them to new environments has been a huge priority here at Smith Pak! Before they're ready to explore the world with all four paws on the ground, we make sure they're still getting plenty of opportunities to experience new sights, sounds, people, and places in a safe way.

Early experiences, both positive and negative, can have a lasting impact on a puppy's development. That's why we put so much thought and effort into making their first experiences positive, building confidence, curiosity, and resilience along the way.

Every Smith Pak puppy is raised with purpose. Whether they grow up to be beloved family companions or future working K9 partners, our goal is the same: confident, environmentally sound, well-rounded dogs who are ready to take on the world!

Meet the Pak Monday — Sterling Vom Smith Pak

Meet Sterling!

Sterling is a very special girl and a proud fourth-generation Smith Pak dog! She is currently working toward becoming a certified Explosives Detection K9, and we couldn't be more excited about her future!

Sterling recently took a little break from her training to take on a very important job—raising her six beautiful puppies, our “Q” litter! She was an absolutely wonderful momma, and now that her puppies are growing up, she's back to doing what she does best!

Sterling has jumped right back into her explosives imprinting work and is making fantastic progress. We love watching her continue to develop her skills and are so proud of the dedication and enthusiasm she brings to her training.

Sterling is a special part of our program. We can't wait to see all that she accomplishes in her detection career!

Keep up the great work, Sterling!

With Sterling's introduction, we wrap up our introduction of Smith Pak's Explosives Detection K9's. Now we look forward to introducing you to the many incredible Narcotics Detection K9's on our team.

Chyro is truly one of a kind! This handsome guy is the perfect combination of an incredibly hardworking K9 and an absolute goofball. When it's time to work, Chyro gives it his all, consistently showing us just how talented and dedicated he is. But when the work is done, his hilarious personality shines through!

Chyro has a special way of keeping everyone around him entertained. Whether he's hard at work or just being his goofy self, there's never a dull moment with this guy. He's one of those dogs who makes you laugh without even trying, and we wouldn't have him any other way!

Last week, we had the wonderful opportunity to visit a local school and teach students all about working K9s!

We love getting out into the community, sharing our dogs, and educating the next generation about the many important roles working dogs play and the exciting career opportunities available in the K9 industry.

The students got a firsthand look at our dogs in action, learned more about what goes into training and working with these incredible animals, and even had the chance to give some love to a few real working K9s- Mako and Reagan.

We also brought along the youngest member of our Pak, Qyote, who was quite the hit with the kids! He certainly enjoyed all the extra attention!

We are always grateful for opportunities like these to connect with our community, share our passion for working dogs, and hopefully inspire a few future K9 handlers and trainers along the way!

Thank you for having us!

Happy 9th Birthday to our marvelous “Z” Litter!
The litter that started it all!

Born on Friday the 13th, this incredible litter of 13 was destined to take the world by storm—and they certainly have!

The Z Litter is an exceptional group of dogs, with many going on to successful working careers and others becoming wonderful, well-balanced family companions.

Among them are Narcotics Detection K9s Zuri and Zorro, and Explosives Detection K9s Zyler and Zaylee. Zyler and Zorro also serve as Patrol Tracking K9s!

Beyond their impressive accomplishments, these dogs have incredible personalities, and each one holds a special place in our hearts. We couldn't be prouder of the dogs they've become and the lives they've touched over the past nine years.

Happy 9th Birthday to Zuri, Zorro, Zyler, Zaylee, and all of their amazing siblings! We love you all dearly and hope you have the very best day!
