“𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧” - 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠

Located in De Kalb, TX

“Titan” is a 5 yr old 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧/𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 gelding that is one of a kind! Standing 14.3, he has enough size and body to handle any job but is compact enough to be catty — and 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬!!

Man, can this one run to cattle! I’ve never ridden a draft cross that loves to run to cattle more the this guy. 𝐇𝐞’𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞. He works the rope well and has enough heart to outlast the sun! 👏🏽

There’s not much to not like about this guy. He’s a 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞, has 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞, and 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭. Sells 100% sound.

Titan is best suited for an intermediate rider due to his quick footedness. Although kind and gentle, he is incredibly mindful of his surroundings. He quiets almost instantly once you’re on his back. Priced at fifteen thousand.

“Gin” is the kind we all hunt for! This young gelding is truly the 𝙬𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙖𝙜𝙚! Standing 14.1, he’s as thick as he is tall and has some serious shape! He’s a smidge behind in his training but has been ridden daily the last 4-6 weeks and is catching up quicker than most. He’s a fast learner and is eager to please.

Gin is 𝙙𝙤𝙜 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙚 — no buck, bite, kick, rear, or other funny business with this one! 𝗛𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹.

This guy is sure enough your next breakaway, calf or heel horse 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩!
He has one heck of a stop and all the cow sense you could ask for. He’s tracked cattle in the arena and spent a good deal of time outside in the yard as well.

Good c**t starters are getting harder to find — and that should worry people.

The horse industry is on fire right now. Incentives are growing, big shows are packed, and everyone wants a broke, confident young horse ready to go.

What’s in short supply?
Horsemen who can start one right.

C**t starting isn’t a quick tune-up or a 30-day flip. The foundation and first few rides shape how a horse thinks for the rest of its life. Rush it, cheap out, or put it in the wrong hands, and you’ll spend years trying to fix it — if you ever can.

Every c**t learns differently. Some figure it out quick, others need time. That’s not weakness — that’s horsemanship. The good ones adjust instead of forcing a timeline.

If the c**t starter you want is booked solid, that’s not a problem — that’s a sign. Ask who they trust and wait your turn if you have to. Settling almost always costs more.

Start them when they’re ready. Keep the rides short, clear, and intentional. Give them 90–120 days if you want something that lasts.

And here’s the part people don’t like hearing:
Pay your c**t starter. Pay them well.
It’s not expensive — it’s insurance.

Because those first rides don’t just make a horse — they decide its future.

One thing we’ll always encourage — whether you’re sending a c**t to someone for the first time or looking for a tune-up on a season horse — is checking references before choosing a trainer. 👏🏽

Ask questions.
Call past clients.
Find out how horses leave their program — not just how they go in.

Every trainer has a different style, pace, and philosophy. That doesn’t mean one is “right” or “wrong,” but it does mean not every program is the right fit for every horse or owner.

A good trainer should be able to tell you what they’re good at, what they’re not, and what kind of horses thrive in their care. 🙌🏽

You’re making an investment in your horse’s future — in their foundation, confidence, soundness, and long-term usefulness. Doing your homework isn’t rude or overcautious… it’s responsible. 🙌🏽

It's the end of December, which for us, means we're just a few days away from c**t starting season! 🥳

We've already put a few rides on our own personal coming 2's and 3's, but we're excited to get our hands on a new crop of customer horses after the first of the year! 🙌🏼

As we settle into our new home in De Kalb, TX and open our doors to a new community, we want folks considering our program to hear directly from the people who have seen the results of work firsthand.

Today, we celebrate National Day of the Horse!

Good horses are honest in their effort. They show up with try, resilience, and a willingness to work that deserves our respect.

The quality of horse flesh in the industry today reflects years of thoughtful breeding and better horsemanship, and it’s something we don’t take lightly.

Clean stalls + full feed buckets are a sure sign that we’re winding down from a busy week at the barn, but gearing up for a fun weekend!

We’re sticking around the house this weekend but have lots on the agenda:

• Roping fresh cattle
• Putting the first ride on a personal horse
• Tuning on a couple outside horses
• Taking sale photos

and MUCH more! 😎

Consistency is key and the time we spend in the arena is an investment worth making.
