HELP. I hung up this center light fixture today but it feels incomplete. What do y’all think I need to add?

It’s basically all thrifted or repurposed so I’d like to keep the theme going and not spend a ton of money, because it’s more fun that way to be creative and think outside of the box, and also who wants to spend a ton of money???

Also pls don’t say take it down, I LIKE IT!

I was going to post this on my stories but I need more opinions so please I need your input! And be nice ty ♥️

For a while, wholesale was a big part of my business.

Between moving, opening a storefront, and transitioning to new candle vessels, I put that side of the business on hold while I focused on getting everything settled.

Now that things have found their rhythm again, I’m ready to start growing our wholesale program once more.

Seeing our products on the shelves of shops like this one in Winter Garden, FL (very close to my hometown) is a reminder of how much I enjoy partnering with other small businesses.

If you own a boutique, gift shop, plant shop, or know a retailer that might be a good fit for Tailfeather + Co., I’d love to connect! Lets chat!

After I shared that I made $286 at a 3 hour market, a lot of people asked what my costs and profit were.

And that’s a fair question.

But when I do a market, I’m not just thinking about the people who buy from me that day.

I’m thinking about the person who stops and smells a candle, then follows me on Instagram, and then remembers me when they need a gift a few months later.

The person who tells their friend about my products.

The person who comes across one of my reels a month from now and realizes, “Oh wait, I’ve seen her before.” (It’s still weird when that happens)

The person who buys a candle today and comes back at Christmas to shop for their mom, sister, and best friend.

The person who’s shopped from me before but had no idea I opened a storefront and now they can shop any time.

Of course I need and want markets to be profitable.

But I’m not just trying to build a business that survives on one-time sales.

I’m trying to build a business that people trust and come back to. One they recommend. One they remember when they need a gift. One they tell friends about.

Markets are definitely work, but they should also be fun too, and if you’re not meeting people, making connections and having fun too then what is the point?

How are you building your business?

Five years ago, if you told me I’d be recording videos of myself and posting them online, I would’ve laughed.

I was always shy, hated being on camera, hated my voice and the way I spoke, and was way too worried about what other people thought. I wasn’t confident in myself, and I definitely wasn’t confident enough in my business to put it out there for everyone to see. (Some of those things are still true lol)

Even when I started posting, I’d overthink it. I’d record videos, watch them back a dozen times, cringe, and debate whether I should post them at all.

What changed wasn’t that I suddenly became confident.

It was you guys!!

The messages from people who say they look forward to my content. They love my jokes and sarcasm. The people who tell me they used one of my market tips. The people who say I inspired them to start their own business, or finally start posting online.

Those messages mean so much!

And beyond that, so many of you have supported my business over the years. You’ve bought candles, shared my posts, stopped by my booth, visited my store, recommended me to a friend, and cheered me on through every version of this business.

What started as a small idea has become my actual job, and that’s because of you.

So thank you. For watching the videos, for supporting my business, for buying my products, and for allowing me to do something I genuinely love every day!!

Did you know there’s a store in downtown Clarksville where you can make your own candle? 🕯️

Inside you’ll find coastal-inspired candles, home fragrance, gifts, and a DIY candle bar where you can create your own custom scent from start to finish.

Whether you’re visiting downtown for the first time or you’ve been down here a hundred times, we’d love for you to stop in and say hi! (and make your own candle obviously)

2021 → 2026 ✨

Five years, hundreds of markets, countless early mornings, and a whole lot of trial and error.

Which one would you rather shop at?

If you’re a newer vendor, don’t let social media convince you that you need to have everything figured out right away. You don’t need the perfect setup, the perfect branding, or the perfect product line to get started.

The version on the left was doing the best it could with the knowledge and budget I had at the time. The version on the right exists because I kept trying and improving a little at a time.

Start where you are. Learn as you go. Your business will grow with you. There’s no quick and fast answers, but eventually you’ll get there. And if you’ve been supporting me from the start; thank you 💕
