Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds is an equestrian venue which hosts the CCPRA Coarsegold Rodeo and the PRCA Coarsegold Stampede Pro Rodeo. Located on 38 acres of gorgeous countryside, the grounds also boards horses and is a great venue for weddings, concerts, business retreats and other events. Our goal is to provide the community with a safe and fun venue for local for profit and non profit events.

We knew there was interest in Barn Basics but we honestly didn’t expect it to fill up this fast… In less than 24 hours our pilot program is full. We’re sorry to those who weren’t able to get a spot this time… Let us get through our pilot program, learn what works and put together a good plan and structure so we can hopefully expand Barn Basics and give more local children the opportunity to participate. We’re excited to officially launch our FREE Barn Basics Homeschool Pilot Program starting next week at the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds!

This hands-on program gives local homeschool students the opportunity to learn practical barn basics, horse care, responsibility, safety and more in a real working environment.

🎓 Ages 9–17
🐴 Only 30 students will be accepted
📚 Homeschool students only
🤎 Completely FREE
📍 Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds

As a pilot program, this first session will help us learn what works, what we need to change or add, and what resources are needed to continue and grow for our local homeschool community.

Space is extremely limited! To give as many local students as possible the opportunity to participate, each child may register for ONE session only.

A special shoutout to Franklin Hoekzema, who was visiting us all the way from Ohio while on vacation and earned a qualifying score! Unfortunately, Franklin won’t be able to make the trip back for the Harvest Rodeo, but we absolutely wanted to recognize his accomplishment!

We will be announcing the next highest-scoring rider who will take Franklin’s spot in the championship soon!

There was a whole lot of action at the grounds this morning and it was one of those days that reminds us exactly why we love this place…. We wrapped up our mutton busting series but that was only part of what made the morning so special…

We started with Cowboy Church with our FCA Coarsegold Rodeo Club Huddle where Jimmy Summer shared his story. His experience is nothing short of a miracle… one of those testimonies that truly gives you chills and reminds you just how powerful faith can be.

Our Flag Team, led by Gina Samper, also performed in front of our mutton busting crowd as they prepare for their upcoming fall season. (Check them out at the The Big Fresno Fair and Coarsegold Harvest Rodeo)

And we loved welcoming some of the newly crowned Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Royalty to join our Coarsegold Rodeo Royalty for the morning.

Between the beautiful weather, the kids, the horses, the fellowship and a grounds full of people enjoying the western way of life… it was simply an awesome morning. One of those days you just stop and feel thankful for!

And once again, a huge thank you to Perry Cooper for being there to capture so many of these special moments. We’re so grateful to have them documented!
