☀️🐾 Warmer weather is here, and that means more walks, outdoor adventures, and sunshine with our furry friends! Before heading outside, keep these important pet safety tips in mind:

🐶 Walk during cooler times of the day — early mornings or evenings are best.

🔥 Check the pavement before walks! Place the back of your hand on the concrete for 7 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your pet's paws.

💧 Bring water and take hydration breaks during walks.

🌳 Look for shaded areas to help prevent overheating.

🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car — temperatures can rise dangerously within minutes, even with windows cracked.

👀 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or tiredness
• Vomiting
• Difficulty breathing

Your pet depends on you to keep them safe while enjoying the sunshine! Stay cool and make this season full of happy, healthy adventures. 🐾❤️

We celebrate an incredible milestone the final shift of Officer Jim Young and his loyal K-9 partner, Zeus.

Moments like this are truly rare, as it’s not often a K-9 officer and their partner get to retire side by side after years of dedicated service together.

Officer Jim Young retires after an amazing 27 years of service and commitment to his community. Throughout his career, he has shown unwavering dedication, professionalism, and compassion. Alongside him, Zeus has faithfully served as both a trusted partner and companion, creating a bond that only K-9 teams truly understand.

At our hospital, it has been an honor to care for Zeus and support this remarkable team throughout the years. We are grateful for the trust, friendship, and service they have given to the community and everyone around them.

Congratulations to Officer Young and Zeus on a well earned retirement. We wish you both endless days of relaxation, new adventures, and many happy years ahead together. 💙🐾
