🌡️☀️ As the days hit 100°, let’s remember to keep our fur babies safe during these long, hot summer days! 🐶🐱❤️ Here are 5 heat safety tips every pet parent needs to know:

1️⃣ Hot pavement burns paws! 🐾🔥
If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet. Walk early in the morning or after sunset.

2️⃣ Hydration is everything! 💧
Make sure your pets always have access to fresh, cool water especially if they’re outside.

3️⃣ Never leave pets in cars! 🚗❌
Even on a “quick stop,” the temp inside can skyrocket to 140°F in minutes. It’s deadly.

4️⃣ Keep it cool with shade & treats!
Use fans, cooling mats, or frozen fruit to help your pets chill out during extreme heat.

5️⃣ Know the signs of heatstroke! 🥵⚠️
Heavy panting, drooling, glazed eyes, or confusion? Cool them down and call your vet immediately.

As the weather warms up, it’s the perfect time for lake days, beach outings, creek hikes, and all the fun summer activities with your furry friend! ☀️🐾
Before you head out, make sure your pet is up-to-date on all vaccines especially the Leptospirosis (Lepto) vaccine. 💉

💡Lepto is a serious bacterial infection spread through water (like lakes and puddles) contaminated by wildlife urine. It can be life-threatening and transmissible to humans so protection is key!

Other important vaccines for your adventure buddy:

Rabies 🦇 (legally required)

DHPP 🐶 (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)

Lyme 🐛 (tickborne, for pets spending time in grassy or wooded areas)

Did you know asphalt can reach 130°F even when it’s just 85°F outside? That’s hot enough to burn your pup’s paws in seconds! 😢

🌅 Morning walks = happy paws and cooler air for easier breathing, especially for brachycephalic breeds (like pugs & bulldogs). Always test the ground with your hand for 7 seconds if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them! 🖐️🐾
