Gratitude Gate is 501c3 nonprofit animal sanctuary located in South Carolina. Many of the animals come to us broken, abandoned and abused.

Located in York County, South Carolina, Gratitude Gate is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the care of rescued animals. We promise each animal that finds sanctuary at Gratitude Gate they will never again be in need or want of anything. Some are born with disabilities and require some extra TLC. Sanctuary means something at Gratitude Gate. It's a promise to always make them first. Together we promised a beautiful life for both Tricky and Herbie after they were failed by another sanctuary. And in Herbie's case he was failed by TWO sanctuaries. I helped rescue him the first time when he was only days old.
What I'm saying is. This is for life. Their life.
I can't do it alone and I will beg if I need too.
These kids aren't great at doing chores so they don't have an allowance to spend on goods. Can you help me keep these beautiful bovines full and flourishing?

Teddy Bear 🧸 and his five-dollar foot-long hanging out! 🤣🧸❤️ He knows how to beg with the cuteness of a pitiful pampered beast. One back leg, cross-eyed and looking for love or treats. Yes, please!
Teddy was living under a dumpster for months with injuries sustained from being hit by a car. His back leg had multiple fractures and was dislocated, and the collision had caused serious damage to his sight. We don't know exactly how long he was surviving there or how. A kindhearted person started feeding him to gain his trust. After a few months, she was able to get him close enough to get him in a humane trap.When she reached out for help, we had the resources at the moment to step up. The leg was not worth trying to save, and we knew he would be able to adapt. We had that rear leg amputated so he had instant relief of pain and the burden. He recovered beautifully and without trouble, is now thriving as an inside boy. He is extremely playful with all of the other kitties and loves to sing the song of his people at all hours of the day and night.
Sometimes life gets us down. Be kind and don't be afraid to help. Just a little leg up can go a long way to help someone get back on their feet! ❤️🧸❤️

Take a little dip with D**k! D**k loves his white Pekin ducks. I know deep down this is because he was raised with Tally by his side.
For those that don't remember Tally, she was an elder goose I rehabilitated after she was partially paralyzed from a fox attack prior to coming to live with us. Everyone was afraid of Tally because she was off balance and wore a special shirt while she rehabbed to walk. D**k arrived half out of his egg soon after that and a beautiful friendship was born. D**k loved Tally even if she fell over. He protected her and stayed by her side for years. After Tally's passing, it took D**k a little time to grieve but he found comfort with the white ducks. Soon all (6) of them have come under his silly goose wings. The ducks also helped D**k find his swimmers feet. He never cared for the water much but lately he seems to be very buoyant! ❤️🪿❤️
