Super excited to have puppies out of this dog. We are in our final week. I couldn’t love these girls any more.. A litter out of Indie has been a long time coming. And of course it makes it even better with it being the last litter to be out of Nashville.

Our current line up of cur dogs is short, but these girls are heavy hitters, Della and Indie. We have made room to concentrate on our incoming puppies. We will be keeping a puppy from each litter out of these girls, if all goes well. They will be ready to get back out when the hunting gets good this late fall.

Tuesday we made the vet appointment to put Nash down. His quality of life has depleted.

Tuesday evening for our sunset ride I decided to take Indie along with Nashville. We just happened to run into a litter of kitten c**n that went up a tree in the road ditch. This is his last tree.

Today we had him put to sleep. Thanks to the Warsaw Vet and Feed for helping us make his last few months as comfortable as we could. And thanks to the whole crew for making his last moments special.

Thanks to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home for your kindness arranging cremation.

Thanks for the memories Nashville. I will strive to get another one to live up to your standards as long as I am alive.

He had no idea where they would go after this beginning. PRICELESS

I’ve owned hundreds of hunting dogs into my 5th decade of a being a houndsman. This dog makes it in to my top 5 all time list. He didn’t win a governor’s cup, a combination trophy, or a state hunt. Fact is he will never make it to his prime. All the others that made it to that list lived through their prime and died a relatively quick death. This one has been tough to watch, because it has been a prolonged process of dying. My wife and I decided when we found out his prognosis 6 months ago, that we would do whatever within reason to help him live out his last days as comfortable as possible. Nashville’s days are numbered and it’s hard to watch. I’m thankful for having the privilege of being the one to own him and to have been able to walk in the woods behind him.
