Monday - Friday: 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 3 pm for adoptions only. Closed Sunday

(Volunteers that have been approved and have completed orientation are welcome to walk dogs or play with the cats on Saturdays with consent)

Meet the newest official greeter at MCAC, Cedric. He's a 2-year-old tricolor pittie/rottie mix who’s been hanging out at MCAC for 60 lonnngggg days. .

At 55 pounds, Cedric checks all the boxes:

✔️ Gets along with dogs
✔️ Polite around cats
✔️ Food-motivated (translation: will work for snacks)
✔️ Sweet, gentle, and just a tad shy in big crowds
✔ Heartworm negative
✔ Fully vaccinated
✔ Microchipped

What a day! 🐾 Our crew of tail-wagging ambassadors — Buddy, Farrah, Dodger, Pete, Lupe, Briggs, Sara, and Tulip spent the afternoon schmoozing, smooching, and sniffing their way through the annual Macomb County Employee Healthstyle Health Fair! We had a blast! 🙌🏻

🐾 Community, we need your help. 🐾

On August 18th, this young tan/white Siberian Husky mix was found near 696 and Hayes on Belanger in Roseville. He had no collar and no microchip, and we’re trying to piece together his story.

Right now, our biggest goal is to learn anything we can about him — his health history, where he may have come from, and whether someone is missing him. Sometimes all it takes is one person recognizing a photo to bring answers.

🐾 What a PAW-some week at MCAC!

✨ 12 lucky pets found their forever homes and we couldn’t be happier for them and their new families! Thank you for opening your hearts and homes to our friends, and changing their lives forever. 💕

Friday was National “Check the Chip” Day, and WOW you showed up! 103 Macomb County pets got FREE microchips to help keep them safe and sound! 🙌 Thank you so much for helping to make our event a success! We also want to give a huge shout out and thanks to our friends at Nostalgia Wood Fired Oven for donating all of the hot dogs & buns for the event. You’re pawsitively amazing! 🌭🐶

But the fun isn’t over – we still have SO many incredible dogs and cats waiting for their second chance. 🐕🐾🐈 Come visit us 10-4 M-F and feel the joy only a furry friend can bring!

A huge thank you to everyone who has brought their pets out to be microchipped today — we’ve had an amazing turnout (and no lines 🎉).

We’re beyond grateful to our incredible community for always showing up for pets, and to the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development (MDARD) for the grant funding that makes events like this possible. Your support helps us continue providing important services for our residents and their furry family members. ❤️

Celebrate National Check the Chip Day with us TOMORROW August 15 from 10 AM to 7 PM!

🐾 No appointment needed – just walk in!

We’ll be grilling up hot dogs from 4-7 to go with those “micro chips” and staying open late hosting a fun evening adoption event to wrap up the dog days of summer.

📚🐾 Thankful Thursday Shoutout! 🐾📚

A novel act of kindness recently came our way! 💛 The Fraser Public Schools Summer School Readers and Writers Class chose us as the lucky recipients of their community project — and wow, did they write us the paw-fect ending to our week. ✨

They collected donations for both our amazing animals and our community pet food bank, helping us care for pets and families in need. Your generosity is truly the best kind of story — one filled with compassion, teamwork, and happy tails. 🐶🐱

Fraser Readers and Writers — you’ve written yourselves right into our hearts. Thank you for being the authors of so much good! We appreciate you!🐾❤️

We are so thankful for all of the donations we’ve received recently. At this time, we’re all set on blankets and towels (thanks to our incredible community!), and we encourage anyone with extras to reach out to other local organizations who may need them.

🚨 Macomb County — we need to talk. 🚨

It’s Wednesday, and we’ve already taken in 10 stray pets this week. TEN!!!

We love them, but we’d rather not keep being the “Lost Pet Hotel.”

Here’s your free fix: This Friday, August 15, from 10 AM – 7 PM, we’re offering FREE microchips for Macomb County pets. Why? Because microchipped pets are way more likely to get back home:

🐶 Dogs with chips get home over 52% of the time (without? Only 22%).
🐱 Cats with chips get home 38% of the time (without? Less than 2%).

🔥 BONUS: From 4–7 PM 🔥
We’re staying open late, firing up the grill, and pairing hotdogs + microchips.

No excuses. Just come, chip, and go. No appointment needed. Not sure if your pet is chipped? Come by and we’ll check! We can also make sure that chip is registered to you with the correct address.

We’ll also be open for adoptions from 4–7 PM — so you can take home a new best friend who’s already chipped (and yes, they’ll happily share your hotdog if you let them).

So grab your pet (cat or dog) and come see us this Friday.

🌞 Rise & shine—it’s Monday, and Kiko’s got big dreams! 🌞

This sweet 4-year-old girl was caught snoozing on her cot, dreaming of the day she can swap it for a warm bed or cozy couch in a loving home. 🐾💤

Kiko is UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. She’s great with other dogs and could live with cats (slow introductions, please).

💙 Even better—Kiko’s adoption is FULLY sponsored! Her fee is covered, so all she needs is someone to walk in and say, “Let’s go home.”
