We have already confessed to this crime, but we figured we'd share it publicly too. Way back in February we stole the denim patches off of our table at the BARK Gala....because, you see, they make the perfect eye patches for these cows with corneal ulcers. We used our first stolen "eye patch" today and this girl is on the mend!

So, thanks BARK for helping the cattle of Bosque County too!

We get it. Your dog is adorable, fluffy, and looks like a giant teddy bear. The human urge to wrap your arms around them and squeeze is almost impossible to resist!

But here is a little secret from the vet world: While we love hugs, most dogs just... tolerate them. 😬

Is your dog a "Hug Hater" or a "Cuddle Bug"? Next time you go in for a squeeze, pause and look for these subtle "Stress Signals." They might be whispering (or shouting) "Please stop!":

👀 "Whale Eye": You can see the whites of their eyes (looking sideways). 👅 Lip Licking: Flicking their tongue when no food is around. 👂 Pinned Ears: Ears slicked back against their head. 🗿 Stiff Body: They freeze up or lean away from you. 😐 The "Kiss to Dismiss": Licking your face aggressively to get you to move away.

"But my dog loves it!" Some dogs do love it! Every pup is unique. But many are just being polite because they love you.
