Spring is all about getting outside. So, just a little reminder from Helga on how to recognize Poison Ivy and Poison Oak - plants with urushiol oil which causes rash and allergic reactions. If you do come in contact with the oil:
- Immediate action: wash away the oil with hot, soapy water
- Apply an over-the-counter cortisone cream or ointment
- Apply calamine lotion or creams containing menthol
- Take oral antihistamines
- Soak the affected area in a cool-water bath that has about a half cup (100 grams) of baking soda
- Place cool, wet compresses on the affected area for 15 to 30 minutes several times a day.

Leroy the Lamb really enjoyed watching the track and field events at Cub Stadium.
Just last week, Clifton Girls Track and Field athletes placed first in area competition. The Clifton Boys placed second. A lot of the athletes qualified for Regional competition, and several school records were broken.
