Missing from the Goodsprings area!! Please be on the look out for my little guy. I believe he has wondered away from home. He went out to use the bathroom yesterday afternoon and was gone when I went back to let him in. I cant find him anywhere!! His name is Oakley, He is a 14 year old, almost blind, going deaf Pomeranian. It’s cold and I need him home! His hair is longer now!
Please please share and help me find him. Contact Amanda McKay.

ADOPTED 11-6-25

URGENT FOR 11-6-25
***PLEASE CALL FOR INFORMATION.
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
STRAY HOLD UNTIL 8/28
Dog #69, Kennel 15
Male, Shepherd/Husky mix, 4 months
*Found on 25th street with a camo collar
**This pet has grown up at AC. Very friendly with other dogs.

The City of Cleveland guidelines state that the CACD is only permitted to provide vetting for sick/injured pets on a STRAY hold and only until the pet’s legal stray hold period has been completed. We do not have a vet on our staff, so all sick/injured pets will have to be adopted/rescued by the date posted.

The CACD is a stressful environment that is not suitable for urgent animals to stay due to potential risk of their illness spreading to other adoptable pets that are portraying as healthy. We do not have access/funds to necessary medical supplies that is needed to provide them with proper care like a vet’s office would.

As per the City of Cleveland guidelines for an OWNER SURRENDERED pet, these pets do not receive any vaccinations/vet treatment upon intake, because the owner is surrendering them to our CACD as is.

Again, the CACD does not have a Vet on staff and cannot provide treatment for OWNER SURRENDERED pets. We highly urge pet owners to use the CACD as a last resort option for placing your pet. Please keep in mind, while you are trying to rehome your one pet, the CACD is trying to find 1,500 or more a home.

The CACD has limited space as well as funds which causes us to operate within the parameters that are set in place.

ALL PETS LISTED AS URGENT MUST BE ADOPTED/RESCUED BY THE DATE THEY ARE POSTED FOR!
The current status of an animal will be shown in the photo description.

Questions about the animals will not be answered by animal control staff via Facebook/comments. For questions, you may contact Animal Control directly at 423-559-3333 or come by during business hours MON-FRI 12-5pm SAT 10am-12pm.

All adoption fees are $50.00 and includes spay/neuter, first set of shots, deworming, and rabies vaccination(if pet is over 12 weeks of age).
Adoptions are first come, first serve - No exceptions.

We are shouting out a big THANK YOU to Sawyer Neeper for choosing Dixie Day Spay as his Eagle Scout Project!

For his project, Sawyer built TWO new kitty feeders, giving our outdoor cats a cozy new spot to perch and enjoy their meals. Our feline friends are absolutely loving them!

But that’s not all — Sawyer also organized a supply drive and donated a huge amount of much-needed supplies to help us continue our mission.

We also want to send a special shout out to Dr. Pruitt for helping with this project and for bringing some of the donations over! Your support means the world to us and the animals in our care!

We are so grateful for community members like Sawyer who go above and beyond to make a difference. Projects like his help us care for more animals every single day.

From all of us (and our whiskered friends) at Dixie Day Spay; thank you, Sawyer!

Meet Treasure, one of our special long-time residents who has been with us for what feels like forever! Treasure is a sweet, happy-go-lucky pup who brings sunshine wherever she goes. Whether she’s playing with her favorite toys or making new human friends, her sweet and friendly nature shines through. Treasure is the perfect companion for outings, whether it’s visiting a friend’s house or enjoying a stroll in the park. She’s truly a good pup who deserves a loving home!

Thanks to a generous donor, we’re thrilled to announce that Treasure's adoption fee is completely waived! In fact, ALL DOGS at our shelter have zero adoption fees for the rest of October! (Please note this excludes puppies and ambassadors.) While there’s no fee, we still require adoption applications and a home visit to ensure the best match for our furry friends.

Don’t miss the chance to welcome Treasure into your home and heart. Share this post to help Treasure and her friends find their forever families! 🐾❤️
