UPDATE: Both Rachel and Optimus have been adopted! 🎉

Okay cat people, we need to have a serious conversation. Or maybe not serious, because if you look at this crew for more than three seconds, it’s impossible not to smile.

Right now we have fifteen cats and kittens that are adoption ready and waiting for homes — and honestly, they seem to be wondering what exactly they’re still doing here.

The boys are Cody, Roscoe, Einstein, Optimus, Ricky, and Orion. They come in a variety pack of personalities ranging from “professional snuggler” to “tiny chaos goblin” to “distinguished gentleman who would like to discuss your life choices.”

The girls are Marigold, Christy, Ena, Pallie, Jackie, Willow, Rachel, Sydney and Astra. This group includes everything from sweet and cuddly to sassy and independent, with enough beauty, attitude, and charm to keep your camera roll completely full for the foreseeable future.

Some are kittens still figuring out how their feet work. Some are grown-ups who have already mastered the art of being excellent companions. Some will be your shadow. Some will politely pretend they don’t need you before secretly becoming obsessed with you. Every single one of them is hoping their next photo will be the one that finally catches the eye of their future family.

Imagine coming home after a long day and being greeted by a tiny face, a happy purr, or a furry supervisor who insists on monitoring every task you perform. These cats are ready for warm beds, sunny windows, snack negotiations, and a family to call their own.

So here’s your official warning: if you come meet this group, there is a very real chance you’ll fall in love. Maybe with one. Maybe with two. We won’t judge. 😊

Fifteen cats and kittens. Fifteen Second Chances to change a life. Come meet them and help us turn these shelter residents into beloved family members! Our doors are open today from 11am to 2pm.

Handy people, we have a question... we have three of these very large outdoor plastic pots with dirt and not so real flowers in them. They are completely filled with rainwater.
Is it possible to drill a hole near the bottom on the side to drain the rainwater or what can we do without completely emptying out and drilling one in the bottom? ďżź And can you even drill a whole heavy plastic?
That being said does anyone have the proper drill and could come do that for us at a reasonable cost?
As always - thank you!!!

🐾MICROCHIP DISCOUNT ALERT! 🐾

The 4th of July will be here before you can say “fetch!” — and while fireworks are a blast for us humans, they can send our furry friends running for cover.

Don’t let your pet pull a disappearing act this summer! The best way to help lost pets find their way back home is with a microchip — and yes, this includes your indoor couch potatoes too!

Collars and tags can break, slip off, or vanish during a great escape, but microchips are a safe, permanent form of identification that stays with your pet for life.

✨ For the entire month of June, we’re offering discounted microchips for just $15 (regularly $25)! ✨

It’s a tiny chip for a HUGE peace of mind.

Stop by our daily vaccine clinic to grab this deal before it’s gone!

UPDATE: Everybody cross your paws! Cooper is in a trial home and so far it's going marvelous!

Help Cooper beat the odds!

He isn't large or small. He isn't purebred or designer bred. He isn't young or old. He isn't white or striped. He isn't longhaired or curly haired. He doesn't know tricks (yet) and may slightly pull on leash.

Cooper is the type of dog that doesn't find a home. He's the one who doesn't get adopted. He's the one who waits while the others trot away.

But what else is Cooper?
He's a dog who adores squeaky toys, loves chew bones, thinks car rides are the epitome of heaven, and is positive humans are the greatest creation ever - in spite of being abandoned and tied to a tree during a rainstorm.

He's 45 pounds, 3.5 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and good in a crate.

Cooper urgently needs a foster home and more than anything he needs a home of his own where he can be the loving, loyal companion he was born to be.

Cooper comes with a trio of stylish collars and matching leashes, food, treats, food/water bowls, and a slew of toys.

Message the Dixie page for more information and please share.

Cooper deserves to beat the odds!

UhOh.....we are in a bind!

This sweet boy, Cooper, urgently needs a place to stay until a spot in boarding opens up or we find him a forever home - whichever comes first.

He is super sweet, about 40 pounds, 3 years old, and is on the schedule to be fully vetted this week. He comes with food, toys, leash, collar - everything you need to give him a safe place to land.

Please message the Dixie Day Spay page or text 423-618-2101 for more information.

Please share and thank you!

ADOPTED - 5/21/26

URGENT FOR 5-21-26
**Pet has wounds on both front legs from licking them. Pet is very stressed here at Animal Control.

Available for adoption now
Dog #270 Kennel #17
“Trouble” 10yrs old male Husky mix
Owner said dog is good with kids. But not good with cats and small dogs.

The City of Cleveland guidelines state that the CACD is only permitted to provide vetting for sick/injured pets on a STRAY hold and only until the pet’s legal stray hold period has been completed. We do not have a vet on our staff, so all sick/injured pets will have to be adopted/rescued by the date posted.

The CACD is a stressful environment that is not suitable for urgent animals to stay due to potential risk of their illness spreading to other adoptable pets that are portraying as healthy. We do not have access/funds to necessary medical supplies that is needed to provide them with proper care like a vet’s office would.

As per the City of Cleveland guidelines for an OWNER SURRENDERED pet, these pets do not receive any vaccinations/vet treatment upon intake, because the owner is surrendering them to our CACD as is.

Again, the CACD does not have a Vet on staff and cannot provide treatment for OWNER SURRENDERED pets. We highly urge pet owners to use the CACD as a last resort option for placing your pet. Please keep in mind, while you are trying to rehome your one pet, the CACD is trying to find 1,500 or more a home.

The CACD has limited space as well as funds which causes us to operate within the parameters that are set in place.

ALL PETS LISTED AS URGENT MUST BE ADOPTED/RESCUED BY THE DATE THEY ARE POSTED FOR!
The current status of an animal will be shown in the photo description.

Questions about the animals will not be answered by animal control staff via Facebook/comments. For questions, you may contact Animal Control directly at 423-559-3333 or come by during business hours MON-FRI 12-5pm SAT 10am-12pm.

All adoption fees are $50.00 and includes spay/neuter, first set of shots, deworming, and rabies vaccination(if pet is over 12 weeks of age).
Adoptions are first come, first serve - No exceptions.
