Our goal with every dog is to find the perfect family match so that they are lovingly cared for the rest of their lives.

Please consider making a donation today to assist our efforts and save more dogs in the greater Sacramento area! We typically pull our dogs from local shelters that are labeled un-adoptable. We work on their issues and prepare them for entering a regular home life. Sometimes its a short process and sometimes it take several months or even longer. We are 501c3 non profit, so donations are tax deductible. We have an adoption screening process and we perform home checks for all families wishing to take our dogs. There is also an adoption fee which helps us pay for vet, grooming, and food bills for our dogs. All our staff are volunteers and are motivated solely by the love they have for our dogs and the determination they have to finding them a great forever home. Meet the newest members of the Haven Dog Rescue family! 🐾

Four incredible pups recently arrived in our care, and they are ready to find a forever home to call their own. They are decompressing in their foster homes, showing off their unique personalities, and stealing hearts by the minute.

Here is your first look at our new arrivals:
• Rose - 10 yrs, chihuahua/terrier mix, 9 lbs - The ultimate cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to curl up and stay by your side all day.
• Cleo – 10 month, kelpie mix, 35 lbs - A fun-loving, playful spirit who’s always up for a game of fetch and would make a great companion for outdoor adventures.
• Rudy – 1 yr chihuahua - Gentle and sweet, this pup is timid at first but warms up quickly and would love a playmate.
• Joey – 6yrs, Chihuahua mix, 20 lbs - We're still letting Joey warm up, but we'll keep you posted on his progress!

Come on out, have your doggies nails trimmed, get some new ink, and help a good cause! Swan and Sword and Creative Paw Spa teamed up to help us raise funds so that we can save more dogs from area shelters!

Vanessa and her grooming team are amazing at what they do, and they have been helping us out with some of our fosters ❤️

If you can't make it out between 10-3 and you want to help, I'm adding a fundraiser here if you'd like to donate. The little white and black Chihuahua, Rose, needs a dental procedure, so we're hoping to raise funds to get that form soon!

🐾 When Alice first arrived, she was tiny, painfully thin, and battling through illness. She didn't have much to give except a quiet hope that things would get better... and did they ever!

With proper medical care, endless nourishing meals, and a whole lotta love, that frail little shadow transformed right before our eyes. Her coat turned sleek and shiny, her bright eyes found their spark, and buried beneath all that sickness was an absolute firecracker waiting to burst out.

Today, Alice isn’t just surviving, she’s thriving, zoomie-ing, and officially adopted!

She found the absolute perfect , complete with a furry buddy who has the stamina to match her brand-new, joyful energy. The two of them have already hit the ground running, tearing up the yard and proving that she’s left her sickly past completely in the dust.

From fragile and hurting to fast, fearless, and deeply loved. Happy life, sweet Alice!

From wandering the river trails to ruling the living room, Eddie has officially been adopted! 🎉💜

Not too long ago, Eddie was just trying to get by, surviving day to day with nothing but his scrappy charm and that unmistakable, hilarious toothy underbite. Life out there was tough, but Eddie’s spirit never got the memo. Every time he flashed that crooked little grin, you couldn’t help but root for him.

Now, those rough days are completely in the rearview mirror. Eddie caught the eye, and the whole heart, of a wonderful Mama who saw that glorious smile and knew instantly that he was meant to be hers.

Happy trails, Eddie. You hit the jackpot, buddy... and so did your Mama. 🥹🐾
