This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served, sacrificed, and given so much for our freedom. 🇺🇸❤️

To all U.S. military members, veterans, and the families who stand beside them—thank you. Your courage, strength, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I just wanted to make a quick post to update everyone and say thank you for your patience lately.

As many of you know, my mom has been going through some serious health issues involving Lyme disease, and we are currently spending a lot of time traveling to specialists, doctor appointments, testing, and trying to get answers for her health. Between caring for her and continuing to run NRV Pet Grooming, things have been a little overwhelming behind the scenes. Tomorrow we meet with another specialist and review a huge amount of testing including over 18 vials of bloodwork, pulse testing, urine and f***l samples as we continue searching for answers and healing for her.

Honestly, seeing everything she is going through has been eye opening, especially considering the amount of ticks we are pulling off pets this year. They have been absolutely terrible this season. We are seeing ticks DAILY, and in much larger numbers than usual. Please make sure your pets are on a good flea and tick preventative and that you are checking both yourselves and your pets carefully after being outdoors. Tick-borne illnesses are no joke.

At this time, we are currently booked out through the end of July. I am doing my absolute best to juggle appointments, returning messages, caring for pets, caring for my mom, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. If I have not replied immediately, please know I am not ignoring you. I promise I will return messages as soon as I am able.

I appreciate every single one of you for being patient, understanding, supportive, and compassionate during this season of life. Your prayers, kind messages, visits with my mom, phone calls checking on her, and continued support of my small business truly mean more than you know. ❤️

Thank you all for continuing to trust me with your babies while I navigate both family and business responsibilities at the same time. Please continue to keep my mom in your prayers as we continue this journey toward answers and healing.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there 💐
Whether you’re raising a human child, a dog, cat, hamster, bunny, horse, donkey, chicken, lizard, toad, or some mysterious creature that requires expensive food and emotional support… today is YOUR day 😂

If you’ve ever:
• shared your bed with an animal instead of your spouse
• called yourself “mommy” to a pet in public with zero shame
• cleaned up p**p, puke, slime, feathers, fur, or mystery fluids before coffee
• spent more money on your animals than yourself
• celebrated birthdays for creatures who literally eat cardboard

…congratulations, you are absolutely a mother 🤣❤️

Some of y’all are out here raising kids AND keeping tiny furry crackheads alive at the same time. Honestly, that deserves a trophy and a 3-day nap.

Happy Mother’s Day to every kind of mama out there — the dog moms, cat moms, horse moms, chicken moms, plant moms, human moms, and the “I said I didn’t want another animal but now it sleeps in my bed” moms too 🫶🐾

No tangles = a happy groomer 😌✂️

Regular grooming isn’t just about keeping your pet looking cute… it’s about their comfort, health, and overall well-being.

When coats are maintained on a schedule:
• No painful pulling from mats
• Skin can breathe and stay healthy
• Grooming appointments are quicker and less stressful
• Your pet actually enjoys the process

Matting, on the other hand, can:
• Trap moisture and bacteria
• Cause skin irritation or infections
• Pull tightly on the skin (imagine constant hair pulling 😣)
• Turn a simple groom into a stressful experience

I always say — we can keep them cute and comfortable, but it starts at home and continues with regular appointments.

Your pet isn’t just another dog to me… their experience matters every single visit 💛

✨ Brush them. Love them. Keep them on a schedule.
✨ And trust me… no tangles makes me VERY happy 😄

Yesterday I found these ticks on a dog during grooming… and yes — this dog is on flea & tick prevention.

Let that sink in.

Prevention is SO important, but it is not 100% foolproof. Ticks can still hitch a ride, crawl through the coat, and attach before the product has time to do its job.

And here’s the part a lot of people don’t realize…

Ticks aren’t just a “summer problem.” They are active year-round, especially anytime temperatures are above freezing.

That means your pet is at risk in your own yard, on walks, and even on those random warm winter days.

And it doesn’t stop with your pet — they can bring ticks right into your home.

➡️ Check your pets thoroughly
➡️ Check yourself after being outside
➡️ Pay attention to areas like ears, neck, armpits, between toes, and under collars

Ticks can carry Lyme disease and other serious illnesses for both pets and people — and early detection matters.

As a groomer, I catch things like this every single day… but this is a team effort.

A few minutes of checking can prevent a much bigger problem later.

Stay proactive. Stay aware. Protect your pets — and yourself.
