Well, Mr. John got a little excited this morning when the deer started moving! 🦌
Before he knew it, he had three deer down! Unfortunately, in all the excitement, he overlooked the fact that one of them didn’t meet our minimum 6-point rule here at Lickstone Outfitters.
Now, Mr. John was a great sport about it! He understood the rules, took responsibility, and paid the small fine for harvesting a deer that didn’t meet our requirements. And with his permission, I’m sharing this as a friendly reminder to all hunters.
Don’t get so caught up in the excitement of the hunt that you forget to enjoy the hunt itself.
Slow down. Sit still. Listen to the woods wake up. Watch the wildlife around you. Take in everything that makes being in the outdoors so special.
Having the privilege to sit in those woods should be one of the greatest rewards of the entire hunt. Harvesting a deer is just a bonus!
Know what you’re shooting, make sure it meets the rules, and don’t let excitement turn into a mistake.
Take your time, enjoy the hunt, and SHOOT STRAIGHT! 🎯
