As pets age, they may benefit from subtle changes made to help maintain their daily routine.
If you've been to our office, then you know our hospital cat, Lizzy, has her own designated drawer up front. We recently added pet stairs to help her get into her drawer since she is beginning to have difficulty jumping up. Lizzy mostly uses the stairs to go up, but occasionally we find her perched on it like a Tetris piece.
Lizzy and other senior cats with mobility issues may also benefit from Solensia. Solensia is a once-a-month injectable medication that helps manage osteoarthritis (OA) pain in cats. We have seen amazing results in cats that had OA pain and received a Solensia injection! If you notice your senior cat is experiencing difficulty jumping up or down, walking stiff or wobbly, or can't crouch down as well as they used to, then we recommend asking your vet if Solensia may help them.
