I still think there is nothing in this world cuter than a Beagle puppy—a memory cemented under my grandaddy’s house.
Circa 1983ish puppies under the house was totally acceptable.
For as long as I can remember (49 years), I have loved dogs. But this summer, I celebrate 30 years of that love being my profession, my calling, and my dedication.
The path was paved early. In 8th grade, I was just cool enough to need a ride to dog training, with my dad serving as Uber. Because I certainly didn’t “Need” a parent there, but also didn’t have a license. My first Black Lab, AJ (Alexis Jade), changed the trajectory of my life. I was only 19 when I started my own business, knowing deep inside what my purpose was. This was before the existence of the “interweb”. I made flyers and took them to all the local veterinary clinics.
From those humble training sessions, my professional history grew to cover complex work, including narcotics training , hunt training, and transformative therapy work. I worked a few different places, ultimately returning to my own place.
The journey has taken my name from coast to coast, with a diverse clientele list—LA to Palm Springs, from Texas to Michigan, the in between and naturally all the Southern States.
It has been an honour to count celebrities, pro athletes, and iconic country music artists, songwriters, among my clients. And yes, even legal giant Bobby Lee Cook (of MATLOCK). One of my personal favorite claims to fame.
I have had my share of challenges and “tough clients” along the way, but they too have taught me patience and advanced my skillset. The extreme ones have taught me different lessons and made me stronger. (More on this later)
For now, I am taking time to reminisce. Thirty years is a lifetime of stories. I could write a whole book!
I am so proud of the reputation I have built and, most importantly, the relationships I have cultivated.
God created dogs for us. I am proud to be someone who helps deepen and protect that extraordinary bond. ❤️
