spooky szn? we’re in our hay era🌾

arguably our favorite Fetch Club tradition, and somehow it just keeps getting better every year.

what looks like a few bales of hay is actually a whole lot of enrichment. new scents to investigate, textures to explore, obstacles to navigate, things to climb, tunnels to weave through, places to hide, opportunities to dig, forage, balance, problem-solve, build confidence, engage in social play, learn from one another, and make their own decisions along the way.

olfactory, tactile, physical, cognitive, social, and environmental enrichment, all wrapped up in one very messy fall tradition.

Graduation is more fun with your bestie🎓

Otis & Finn are officially graduates of our Puppy Program, and a round of applause is certainly in order!

These two were part of one of our more studious classes to date. Lots of hard work, big milestones, and a healthy amount of puppy shenanigans along the way.

We couldn’t be prouder of the little dogs they’re becoming, and we’re especially excited that this is just the beginning of their time with us.

Help us congratulate our newest puppy program alumni! 👏off to big kid school they go….

The first rule of fright club is that you tell everyone about fright club 💀

Our annual Halloween social is back this Wednesday and Thursday! 2 days of over the top festivities. Then we take it to the polls. Public voting runs 10/29-31, with 1️⃣2️⃣and3️⃣rd place winners announced on 11/1. And thanks to some very generous local businesses, the prize baskets are getting a little out of hand 👻

Dress accordingly.

What is foraging and why does it matter?

Foraging is basically how dogs interact with the world around them. Some examples:
�Sniffing
Digging
Tracking smells
Rummaging
Rooting
Shredding
Chasing
Pulling things apart

It’s normal dog behavior! And honestly, most dogs don’t get enough opportunities to do it anymore.

Foraging isn’t just about “keeping them busy” either. It helps dogs slow down, think, regulate themselves, and actually feel fulfilled. A lot of the stuff people call “bad behavior” can come from dogs just… not having enough outlets for natural behaviors.

The part I think we get wrong is that we turned foraging into an activity instead of a lifestyle. A puzzle toy here and there is great, but real foraging happens when the environment actually lets dogs use their instincts naturally throughout the day.

That’s a huge part of how we think about enrichment at The Fetch Club: not just adding activities into the day, but creating an environment where dogs can actually act like dogs.
