Indoor/outdoor toys!!!

So thankful for all of the gifts we have received for Christmas this year !!

They are certainly bringing our dogs lots of joy!!!

It doesn’t matter to us what beeed our dogs are - we love them no matter who they are.
However curiosity get the best of Mari’s foster mom so she sent off her DNA

So our little Jack Russell mix has not one bit of Jack Russell in her!! Who knew????

It actually makes sense because she has quite a thick coat just like an American Eskimo !! She has a very nice temperament like they do too !!

Thank you to her foster mom Jen for the detective work!! Who knows maybe there is someone looking for an American Eskimo or Eskie as they are called!!

Often we hear people say they have no words and that’s where we are today. Struggling to find words to express how very sad we are💔

Jack passed away early on Saturday morning in the arms of his adoring parents, Christina and Jay. He had been diagnosed with cancer several years ago but we thought we would have more time.

Jack entered AHS Newark Branch in October of 2018 and we had eyes on him immediately. He was that kind of dog - stunning. But he was also the kind of dog that doesn’t get out - 84 pounds, big and black. Labeled rescue only for resource guarding.

We had just started our rescue earlier that year and weren’t sure we could handle it. However after 6 months in the shelter in April of 2019- we decided he could wait no longer and we took him into our boarding facility in Warren County.

That’s when the real work started - he was walked at the kennel everyday by our volunteers and given lots of love and attention while he waited.

We met people and everyone loved Jack but no one was willing to take a chance on him.
He went into foster with Christina and Jay who easily managed his resource guarding.

In April of 2021 they officially adopted him and he has lived a life of happiness ever since.
Jack was the love of their lives and we are truly heartbroken for them.

Jack loved the beach , his parents and was always so happy to see his friends !! He was a favorite of all the neighborhood dogs.

It is impossible to list the many people who touched his life because he was that dog - regal and magnificent in every way. He was a volunteer favorite at the shelter and also within our rescue. We thank all who helped him along the way.

We know that we are indeed better for knowing him because he was the catalyst for the many long term shelter dogs joining our rescue.
We learned that things aren’t always what they seem because the dog that presented in the shelter was far from who Jack was.

He was a goofball - who smiled with a big toothy grin- loved to dress up - and to walk. He was an amazing dog ❤️

We will miss you Jack and you will be forever loved by us all ❤️❤️❤️

Wheezy is still a little woozy !!

Thank you to our friends at Rockaway Animal Hospital for Wheezy’s dental procedure today.

She did great and is back home tonight with her foster mom Amanda!!

It truly the most wonderful time of the year and today we are taking a moment to thank all who have donated gifts, toys, treats, beds and monetary donations this month.

We know that the lives of our dogs are so much better because we get such tremendous support from so many.

We always worry that we don’t say thank you enough - we hope we do !!
