Tiny Paws Rescue is a volunteer foster-based, small-breed dog rescue dedicated to rescue and placement of small dogs into loving, permanent homes throughout Phila, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery & Delaware counties in PA as well as Central & Southern NJ

Countless small dogs in the region are left homeless every year through no fault of their own. Many are dumped at ACCT Philly (Animal Care and Contr

ol Team of Philadelphia) and other public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation. Others are surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. Tiny Paws Rescue is committed to helping the neediest, as well as the readily adoptable, among our area’s most vulnerable creatures. Dogs in our care receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, including spay or neuter, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption and placement in the loving, responsible, forever homes they deserve. Tiny Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue run entirely by dedicated volunteers and does not receive any public funding. We rely entirely on fundraising support and donations from private individuals and local companies/organizations who believe in our mission.

ADOPT MINK!!

Mink’s a 7yo 15lb Shih Tzu mix. She’s calm dog, cat and kid 8+ friendly. She’s house and crate trained. She’s good with a secure fenced in yard and going for harnessed leashed walks. She loves playing with small squeaky toys. She needs time to warm up to new people and environment but once she does she can be cuddly and want to be with her people all the time.

Mink’s foster requires a home where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, take her on harnessed leashed walks along with gives her space and time to get to know them and the new environment, let her come to them at her own pace and make sure she has tons of small squeaky toys. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

Mink as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first.

Mink is spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Maple Shade, NJ. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Meet Mr. Bigglesworth, better known as Biggie.

When he was found, Biggie was in heartbreaking shape—malnourished, covered in fleas, and abandoned after being cruelly thrown against a fence. The vet said it was the worst flea case they had ever seen. At just 2–4 years old, this little Malti-poo mix had already endured more than most dogs ever should.

His first days in foster care were tough. He refused food and water, choosing only to sit quietly in his crate. His foster mom admits she broke down in tears watching him struggle.

But then came the breakthrough. Biggie took his first bites of food, p*eked out of his crate, and eventually went on a short 3-minute walk. When he got home, he proudly picked up his very first bone and chewed it while relaxing with the other dogs.

That may sound small, but for Biggie, it was a huge step. Every day, he’s showing more courage, more personality, and more will to heal. We are so proud of this brave little man and can’t wait to watch him continue to blossom.

UPDATE: Yes, Sunshine has been returned due to no fault of his own. He is very cuddly when he wants to be which seems to have given people the false impression that they can do things that his foster had informed them about and what was needed for him.

To explain some of what Sunshine requires and to help people to understand his foster said: I had no interaction with him unless I went into the kitchen. I went so slowly. It took him a good 2-3 weeks and there are things I still do on his terms. He does things really well with treats involved so if I want him off of somewhere (ex: Sofa, bed, chair) or in somewhere (crate or a room), I just use training treats. I don’t hand feed him. I throw the treats where I want him to go.

ADOPT SUNSHINE!!

Sunshine’s a 1.5yo 15lb Terrier mix. He’s dog, cat and kid 8+ friendly. He’s housebroken when kept on a schedule and crate trained. He’d be good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going on harness leashed walks. He loves to suckle on a stuffed animal or blanket. He needs some time to warm up with new people, but once he does warm up, he’s a sweet cuddle bug who will roll over for belly rubs. He’s young so can get burst of energy but also low key and chills.

Sunshine’s foster requires a home that gives him space and time to get to know them and the new environment, let him come to them at his own pace and make sure he has tons of stuffed toys to suckle on along with another playful dog 20lbs or larger. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

She’s good in a secure fenced yard and will need some leash training for harness leashed walks. She’s sweet, cuddly and affection. She likes to play with her foster siblings especially since she has puppy energy.

Millie’s foster requires a home with people to give leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training and if kids need to be over 10yo. Welcome Gizmo!

This sweet 4-year-old mixed breed was saved from the shelter today! Gizmo was found late at night alongside another little dog (our Wile E. Coyote, formerly Buttercup), wandering the streets and looking for safety. Thankfully, a kind person brought them into her yard to keep them safe from traffic.

Over the next few days, she discovered what wonderful little dogs they are: house-trained, gentle eaters, and so grateful for kindness. Gizmo landed at the shelter, but today he got his freedom ride and couldn’t be happier to be out.

He’s battling kennel cough, so he’ll spend a little time in a temporary foster home to rest and recover before moving on to his foster family where he’ll get all his vetting and a fresh grooming.

We are so glad Gizmo is safe, and we can’t wait to see him blossom with love and care.

Our Story

Tiny Paws Rescue was founded in 2015 by Kim Astringer. We are a 501(c)3 Nonprofit rescue and animal advocacy organization serving Central & Southern NJ as well as Phila, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery & Delaware counties.
