Tiny Paws Rescue

Tiny Paws Rescue Tiny Paws Rescue, a volunteer foster-based, small dog rescue serving NJ, Phila & surrounding areas

Tiny Paws Rescue is a volunteer foster-based, small-breed dog rescue dedicated to rescue and placement of small dogs into loving, permanent homes throughout Phila, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery & Delaware counties in PA as well as Central & Southern NJ

Countless small dogs in the region are left homeless every year through no fault of their own. Many are dumped at ACCT Philly (Animal Care and Contr

ol Team of Philadelphia) and other public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation. Others are surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. Tiny Paws Rescue is committed to helping the neediest, as well as the readily adoptable, among our area’s most vulnerable creatures. Dogs in our care receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, including spay or neuter, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption and placement in the loving, responsible, forever homes they deserve. Tiny Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue run entirely by dedicated volunteers and does not receive any public funding. We rely entirely on fundraising support and donations from private individuals and local companies/organizations who believe in our mission.

** WARNING TO SENSITIVITY~SOME PICTURES ARE GRAPHIC OF ROCCO’S WOUND BY HIS EYE **

Yesterday was all about Helping ROCCO Heal for the Holidays!

Rocco was at Blue Pearl Malvern, for, what we hope, is his final surgery to heal the wound under his right eye and fix his lower lid.

Here’s Rocco’s story:
Tiny Paws Rescue took Rocco (fka Rocky the Man) on 7/8/24 from ACCT Philly in as a TINY!!

Once Rocco’s matts were shaved, we saw his skin allergies caused him to scratch at his eyes that he had wounds that kept reopening and then healed over his eyes. He needed Urgent Medical Attention to remove necrotic skin and open his eyes. Rocco started to heal and look like the cute, happy, healthy dog he was meant to be.

Then, Rocco’s lower right eyelid turned inside out and he wasn’t able to completely close his eye. It was constantly irritated and weeping. Rocco had surgery to correct the issue. Unfortunately, with fixing that Issue, the wound under the eye reopened.

Last week Rocco’s eye wound became infected so we quickly got him to the ER where the vets were able to treat him and his infection. Blue Pearl scheduled Rocco’s surgery for yesterday because if he waited any longer, he may lose his eye. Tiny Paws Rescue knew he needs this surgery and despite our medical fund being depleted, we committed to Rocco to get him the care that he needs to make him well.

The estimate we were given for this surgery was $2,500 - $4,000. Which is over what we have already paid for all his past medical needs.

Also, purchasing a 2026 Tiny Paws Calendar and you get a cute Calendar of some of our TINY alumni. Also, entering our Holiday Cash Raffle or a Raffle on our Auction Page where you get a chance to win will help too since all proceeds go toward out Vet Fund.

In a groundbreaking move for animal rights, Pennsylvania has passed a bill recognizing pets as family members rather than property. This legislative change is a significant victory for animal lovers and advocates across the country. It acknowledges that pets, like dogs, cats, and other animals, have unique bonds with their human families, and they deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and love.

The change in how pets are viewed under the law could have far-reaching consequences. It paves the way for better legal protections for animals, ensuring that they aren’t just seen as objects to be bought and sold, but as cherished family members. This shift in perspective helps to establish a more humane society, where animals’ needs are more carefully considered, and their well-being is prioritized.

As the world becomes more conscious of animal rights, this bill from Pennsylvania could inspire other states to follow suit. This move is a clear indication that societal attitudes are changing, and that pets are being recognized for the joy, companionship, and emotional support they bring to people’s lives. 🐾💖

ADOPT MAXWELL!!

Maxwell’s a 8yo 15lb poodle mix. He’s dog and kid friendly. He’s house and crate trained. He’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. He loves being next to his people and to get tons of cuddles, affection and attention. He has an amazing personality, is super chill and friendly has a tendency to wait for you to give attention but will come to you for it when in the mood.

Maxwell’s foster requires a home where he gets tons of love, affection, cuddle time and a comfy bed along with giving him soft foods only since he has no teeth. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

Maxwell as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first.

Maxwell’s neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. He had a dental with all teeth he had removed so needs to eat soft food only. Currently in Elkins Park, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

ADOPT LADY!!

Lady’s an 8yo 10lb Maltese mix. She’s dog selective, cat and kid 13+ friendly. She’s housebroken if kept on a schedule but will wear a diaper and use p*e pads and crate trained. She’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. She’s agile, smart, likes squeaky toys, people and going for walks but will bark at people, dogs and noises. She is easy startled so best to sleep in a dog bed on the floor so not to accidentally wake her while sleeping.

Lady’s foster requires a calm home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, be an only dog, brushed/groomed often to prevent matting along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training.

Lady as all dogs should have 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first.

Lady takes medication daily for a seizure disorder, drops for her eyes and bathed every 1-2 weeks with medical shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis. She does still have seizures but they have not gotten more frequent so her vet seems ok with this. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org
