Seeing more kittens in your neighborhood? This is how it starts.

Cats can multiply quickly - what starts as one stray can quickly become many. Kittens can get pregnant as young as 5 months old, and cats can have multiple litters, EVERY year.

If you’re feeding a feral or outdoor stray cat (or a whole colony!), there’s help. FCCO can spay/neuter all the cats at once, and provides vaccinations, too. Services are offered for a donation.

Getting cats fixed is the most effective way to prevent more kittens and help keep your neighborhood healthy and manageable - for both people and cats.

Cheney Cat Connection Needs Supplies!

As many of you know, after the recent split we are truly starting from the ground up. At this time, we no longer have access to any of the previous donations or supplies, but we remain fully committed to continuing the important rescue and TNR work that Cheney so desperately needs. ❤️

We are currently accepting donations of supplies in good, usable condition such as:

🐱 Sheets & blankets
🐱 Towels
🐱 Kennels & crates
🐱 Pet carriers
🐱 Live animal traps
🐱 Litter boxes
🐱 Cat food & litter
🐱 Cleaning supplies
🐱 Kitten supplies

If you are spring cleaning, downsizing, or have extra pet items sitting around, please consider donating them to Cheney Cat Connection. Every single item helps us continue helping stray, abandoned, and community cats in our area. 🐾

At this time we do not have a way to accept monetary donations, but physical supplies would mean the world to us while we rebuild.

Please reach out if you have items to donate or would like to help support our mission. Thank you for believing in this work and supporting the cats of Cheney. 🩷

Fostering saves lives!

Fostering saves lives!

It’s raining cats and kittens 🐱☔️, and our rescue is officially running out of room! We need your help to save lives‼️

We are in desperate need for people willing to foster mama cats and or baby kittens! Fostering is a great way to acquire volunteer hours, get kitten cuddles without the commitment of owning a cat and also saving lots of little innocent lives while doing it!
We provide all of the nessecarey supplies, vet care and support, all we need you to do is provide the TLC!

We could not do what we do without our communities help, if you are interested in joining our foster family please click this link! 💕

Cheney Cat Connection is starting off strong!

Today, 2 of our volunteers were able to safely wrangle 8 kittens from a known colony here in Cheney. These babies will now be heading to the Spokane Humane Society, where they will be placed in foster care until they are old enough and ready to find loving homes. 💜

We will also be returning to trap their moms so they can be spayed and prevent this cycle from continuing. TNR is one of the most effective and humane ways to reduce suffering and overpopulation in community cats, and we are committed to continuing that work in Cheney.

As we are starting completely from the ground up, we are currently in need of traps and basic supplies to continue helping local cats. If anyone has extra traps, supplies, or would like to support our efforts, please reach out!

We are also looking for more volunteers to help with trapping, transport, fostering, and outreach so we can continue making a difference for the cats in our community. 🐾

Thank you for all the support already, we are excited for this new beginning and the work ahead! 💜

We’re excited to introduce Cheney Cat Connection!
A new community page created by former volunteers who have spent the past 8 months working together through Cheney Feral Cats Alliance.

After recent changes, we’ve made the decision to move forward separately from Cheney Feral Cats Alliance and continue this important work in a way that better aligns with our values and approach. This is a fresh start for us, and an opportunity to continue serving the cats and community with transparency, compassion, and consistency.

As we begin this new chapter, we are also rebuilding from the ground up, including securing new donations, supplies, and resources to continue our TNR and rescue support efforts.

Cheney Cat Connection is a community space dedicated to helping cats and the people who care for them. We support humane care, Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and connect neighbors with resources for lost, injured, and stray cats. Our goal is to reduce suffering, control overpopulation, and build a compassionate network where every cat has a chance at safety and care.

We aim to be a space where neighbors can come together to report and find lost or injured cats, ask for guidance without judgment, and work collectively toward reducing suffering and overpopulation. Through collaboration, transparency, and kindness, we believe every cat deserves a chance at safety, care, and dignity whether they live indoors or outdoors.

This is a community space for people who care about the cats of Cheney. Here you can ask for advice, locate local cat resources, get help with TNR, share lost/found cats, and connect with others working to improve the lives of community cats. Whether you care for one cat or an entire colony, you’re welcome here 💜

We remain committed to the same mission: reducing community cat overpopulation and lessening suffering through humane, practical solutions.

We are grateful for the support we’ve received and look forward to this new beginning. Together, we hope to build a positive, educational space where the community can come together for the cats who need us most. 🐾
