Courtesy post for this beautiful boy!

His name is Misfit
Breed: Bully breed x Dutch shepherd mix
Age: 13 months
Male, neutered
Mid-Large size
Misfit has been with me for several months as a foster and sport eval. While he's a sweet dog with decent potential, l just can't give him the attention to develop him. He is getting bored here and desperately needs even a different foster (or permanent home) who can provide more.
Great with other dogs - can be overly playful and excited when playing, but accepts correction fine.
Has never met a stranger. He's met some older kids and was good with them, as well.
He's green as far as obedience training goes. He walks well on leash and has an understanding of leash pressure. "Knows" sit, down on a verbal is close, but down on visual and/or pressure is good. His overall foundation needs brushing up, but he is a willing learner. Has been started on body awareness such as pivots, sit/down on platforms.
He has been introduced to canix and bikejore - just baby dog harness breaking and learning to pull in harness breaking and learning to pull in harness.
Same for weight pull.
He enjoys disc rollers and with appropriate work put in, l think he could be a fun disc dog.
Introduced to rats and has decent interest for barn hunt.
His food drive is great! He lures nicely and will work for just about anything.
Toy drive is high end of medium right now. When he was a baby baby, he would TUG. Teething slowed that and it just hasn't fully returned to the strength it was before teething. I believe it will could back with maturity and play based training with and without food/toys.

✨He would make a decent entry level sport dog or even an active companion. He would be just as happy being a running and/or hiking buddy as he would be being an occasional weekend warrior sport dude!!!✨

✨Yesterday was another busy and big day! 💙

Almost immediately after posting a photo of this tiny baby, we received an application that was beyond perfect, and yesterday he was officially pre-adopted by the best family!

This snuggly, teeny-tiny baby, who was separated from his mama far too early, is now in a home overflowing with love. A home that will give him the one on one time and comfort, security, and affection he deserves during such an important stage of his life. While he’s eating dry food, he absolutely should have had more time with his mama.

Cases like his break my heart because 99% of the time, we don’t know the full story. We don’t know why they were taken away from their mother and given away. We don’t always know the history. What we do know is that they need help. They need someone to step in on their behalf. Because if we don’t, who will?

Saturday night was especially sweet because he spent the night with our family before heading to his forever home on Sunday. We all soaked up every second of that precious puppy breath. It’s one of my favorite things! It’s been a while since we’ve had one this young in our home and he is truly the sweetest little baby boy.

So we officially introduce Buck. His parents named him to match his new canine siblings names which all start with “B”. Buck could not fit this baby anymore perfectly! 😍

Thank you to his wonderful family for choosing him, for pre-adopting him and most importantly seeing him.

We can’t wait to share updated photos as this precious boy grows.

❤️ Buck, your forever story starts now.❤️

This video is so dear to me. It may be my favorite video of all the dogs I have ever recorded. Here’s Cookies and Creme, now Bogey’s true freedom ride moments before meeting his new family.

✨Yesterday was a big day, not only for Genesis ONE, but for a dog named Cookies and Creme.✨

Yesterday morning, Cookies and Creme was sitting in a kennel at Shelby Humane. He had been there since early March and was on the euthanasia list. He was visibly struggling and very much underweight. The dog I met at the shelter couldn’t stop moving, couldn’t stop smelling, couldn’t settle. He seemed overwhelmed by everything around him.

With the help of my dearest friend Kendall Cash, we broke him out of “jail.” But not before giving treats and bones Kendall had brought to the shelter for each dog.🤍

When it was time to leave Cookies and Creme jumped right into my suv like he had done it before. He and I first stopped at Tractor Supply for a bath(he did beyond amazing). Then we headed to McDonald’s. A sweet employee noticed him in the car and asked if he could have a pup cup. Of course, I said yes. I had also ordered him a cheeseburger and a large water no ice! He thoroughly enjoyed his cheeseburger, his pup cup, and his own large ice-cold water like they were the greatest gifts he’d ever received.

What amazed me was how quickly he was changing.

Within an hour, he was calmer. More present. More aware. He walked through Tractor Supply beautifully. He listened. He didn’t pull. He stood patiently while getting his bath. He hopped in and out of the car on his own and waited patiently for his cheeseburger.

As we drove, I rubbed the back of his neck while he fought to keep his eyes open. Eventually, he drifted off to sleep with my hand still on him.

I sat there thinking, “Does he even know what love feels like?”

“Has someone ever just sat with him?” “Has someone ever simply rested their hand on him and let him know he mattered and was deeply loved?”

I told him several times throughout the drive that I loved him. Every single time, he would give me a few gentle kisses and stare directly into my eyes. He isn’t a dog that constantly licks, but it felt like he understood. It felt like he was acknowledging what was being said.

It was so clear that he knew his life was changing.

Then we arrived at Uptown and met his new family.

They immediately fell in love with him.

What makes this story even more incredible is that they actually submitted an application before I ever posted Cookies and Creme. They had originally inquired about Ralph. Because of that, I was able to approve them to adopt ahead of time. While talking with them, I mentioned a dog I was planning to pull from Shelby Humane. I sent them his picture, and they immediately wanted to meet him.

Yesterday, he went from facing euthanasia to sleeping in his forever home with his new family.

Loved.

Wanted.

Safe.

A family that recently lost their 16-year-old dog in October opened their hearts again. Their current dog who missed his friend, now gained a new friend. And Cookies and Creme gained a family who will love him for the rest of his life.

His new name is Bogey.

As I reflect on yesterday, I can’t help but notice what I believe are the fingerprints of God all over it.

When you seek Him daily, ask Him to guide your steps, and place every rescue in His hands, you begin to see how intentionally He works. What looked like a series of random events was anything but random.

God knew Bogey needed a family.

God knew this family needed Bogey.

God loves us so much and He loves Bogey too.

And somehow, through a shelter kennel, an adoption application, a bath at Tractor Supply, a cheeseburger, a pup cup, and a car ride filled with love. He brought them together, I know He did.

So no, yesterday was not an ordinary day.

It was one of those days that gets tucked away in your heart and never forgotten.

I’m thankful for the people God placed in my life to step in and help when it’s needed. Friends who are more than surface-level friendships. Friends who show up, help carry the load, and remind you that some relationships feel intentionally placed by the Lord Himself. Genuine friends because they are hard to come by. 💕🙏🏼🙏🏼

And I’m thankful for Bogey.

On the last stretch of our drive, he rested his head on top of my side mirror, letting the wind hit his face as he took in every smell around him. I saw relief. I saw freedom. I saw a boy finally exhale.

Yesterday could have been the end of his story. Instead it was the beginning of a brand-new chapter of LOVE.

Welcome home, Bogey. ❤️
