Hi, I’m Brandy! 🐶💕

I’m 1.5 years young, 40 pounds of pure excitement, and I’m here to tell you one thing: I am READY to be your new best friend. Like, seriously. I already love you and we haven’t even met yet.

Let me break it down: I love people. LOVE. THEM. Big ones, little ones, loud ones, quiet ones—I want to meet them all and probably lick their faces. I also happen to be really, really good at fetch. Like... pro-level. And don’t even get me started on squeaky toys. If it squeaks, I must destroy—I mean, play with it lovingly.

Treats? Yes please. Cuddles? Absolutely. Personal space? Never heard of it. I will snuggle you like it’s my job, and frankly, I take my work very seriously.

I’ve got a heart the size of a jumbo peanut butter jar, and I’m ready to give it all to someone who wants a goofy, sweet, squeaky-toy-obsessed shadow to call their own.

If that’s you, I’ll be waiting with tail wags, sloppy kisses, and my favorite tennis ball.

💔 Our Puppies Are Growing Up Without a Family 💔

They came to us so young.
Full of hope. Full of promise.
They were supposed to stay just long enough to be loved, noticed, and chosen.

But days turned into weeks. Weeks into months.
And now… they’re growing up in the shelter.

🐾 Princess – arrived at just 3 months old. She’s now 10 months and has been here 214 days.
🐾 Derwin – came in at 6 months. He’s been waiting 157 days, now 11 months old.
🐾 Gabriella – 7 months when she arrived. Now just over 1 year, still here after 156 days.
🐾 Kane – came in at 8 months. It’s been 72 days, and he’s now 10 months.
🐾 Mallory – only 6 months when she arrived. She’s been waiting 51 days, now nearly 8 months old.

They’ve spent their puppy days watching the world from behind kennel doors, hoping each visitor is the one who finally sees them.

They are growing up sweet. Smart. Beautiful.
But not where they belong.

These aren’t just shelter dogs — they’re someone’s best friend waiting to be found.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting… please come meet them.
Give them the chance to grow up in a home, not just wait for one.

Because puppies shouldn’t have to grow up wondering when it’s their turn.

💔 Still Waiting… 💔

This is Lee — 1.5 years old, 216 days in our care… and not a single inquiry. Not one.

He’s full of life, full of love, and full of potential. Lee is energetic, adores people, and is as food-motivated as they come (seriously, he’ll do anything for a treat!). He’s even learning how to sit like a good boy.

He believes he’s training for the Olympics, so he’ll need someone patient who can help guide him on a leash. But his enthusiasm? That’s just his way of showing how excited he is about life — and maybe, hopefully, about finding you.

Lee hasn't been neutered yet, so for now, he can only be fostered by residents of Pittsylvania County or Danville City.

We know he’s special. We just wish someone else would see it too. Help us share his post — maybe his person just hasn’t seen him yet.

Meet Basil, who was adopted from the Pet Center in March of 2025. Below is what Basil's owner, Earl, had to say about the adoption of him.

"We were looking for a companion for our other cat when we saw Basil. Basil was a feral barn cat, brought in with another cat. He didn’t want to be touched but also wasn’t a fighter. We are still working on getting picked up, but he and Hemingway are best buddies!! He has become a people cat, which started with the ankle rubs at breakfast. It took about 3 weeks for him to flop over and let me rub that cute belly!"

Jason – 3.5 years old, 172 days in our care. Loyal, smart, and loves going for walks. 🚶‍♂️

Bluey – 2 years old, 137 days in our care. Full of playful energy and loves people. 🎾

Luke – 3 years old, 129 days in our care. An affectionate and playful boy who has been returned to us twice now.

Alessa – 2 years old, 82 days in our care. Sweet, affectionate, and wants all the attention. 💕

Vivi – 2 years old, 25 days in our care. Young and eager to please—already a superstar with house manners! 🌟

Jeb – 2.5 years old, just 4 days with us as he was returned from his adoptive home. Very playful, loves people and other dogs.
