10/28 Update: Brit is still looking for a foster.
Rescued from a hoarding situation, she worked so hard in our Whiskers of Hope program to go from completely terrified to loving pets and being held. She feels ready and hopeful for her next chapter, but she still needs a quiet home to take that final step. You can help Brit today by sharing this post or applying to foster and learning more at bit.ly/sota-brit.
We are happy to answer any questions in the comments to find Brit the right foster!
Meet Brit, a gentle survivor rescued from a hoarding situation who just made one of the bravest transformations we have ever seen. Through our Whiskers of Hope partnership at Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility, Brit spent weeks receiving patient, one-on-one care from a dedicated caregiver in their mental health unit.
She arrived terrified and overwhelmed, but she chose resilience. Over three quiet weeks of decompression, that fear turned into pure trust. Today, Brit feels confident, affectionate, and hopeful. She happily leans into chin scratches, purrs when held, and eagerly counts down the minutes until dinner time.
Now, Brit needs a calm, patient foster home without other pets where she can continue to thrive and settle in at her own gentle pace.
