sure of the time that works best. Last-minute cancellations may not be able to be rescheduled in a timely manner. I work one to one with your dog from start to finish. Do not be late for your appointment time, or your will have to reschedule. Early drop off can be arranged if you have a schedule conflict. Be respectful of my business and my neighbors. I will charge an extra fee to clean excessive accidents or deal with HOA complaints. We close promptly at 4PM. All dogs must be picked up by 4pm. People looking for pet sitters and walkers

Dear Bows and Bones Family,

We have some bittersweet, but exciting news to share with you! Bows and Bones is merging with My Sweet Michelle, another one of Cabarrus County’s most loved and trusted pet care companies.
After 8 wonderful official years (and another 7 before that) of caring for your sweet babies, it’s time for me, Stephanie, to pass the torch.

Creating this company was a literal dream come true, and I cannot thank you enough for helping me build that dream into an award-winning reality. Taking care of your pets has been the greatest love story of my life, and I’ll cherish every memory we’ve shared.

When I made this hard decision, I chose Tiana and her team at My Sweet Michelle because they share the same heart, passion, and professionalism that define Bows and Bones. Tiana’s compassion and leadership give me complete confidence that you and your pets will be in excellent hands. I’ve taken care of the hard part for you and have found a company who I know will take care of your babies (as well as mine), and I’m grateful for your trust in my decision to move forward with Tiana.

The My Sweet Michelle team is:
• Background checked
• Pet First Aid & CPR certified
• Fear Free certified
• Fully insured, bonded, and members of Pet Sitters International

And the best part — your same sitters that you know and love are joining Tiana’s team, which means your pets will continue to see familiar faces, as well as some awesome new ones. My Sweet Michelle has also earned incredible community recognition, including Nextdoor’s Neighborhood Favorite (2024) and more than 80 5-star Google reviews: https://g.co/kgs/t1jzgG8. Check out their website at: www.mysweetmichelle.com.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your trust, loyalty, and love over the past 15 years. Your pets have truly been the greatest joy of my life, and I am forever grateful.

With love and gratitude,
Stephanie Stergis
Founder, Bows and Bones

ps - We're having a party on October 24th at Cabarrus Brewery, where I will literally pass the torch to Tiana. Details to follow.

An IMPORTANT note on puppies:

*Puppies should visit as soon as they've had their final set of shots which includes the rabies.

*I am ADAMANT their first visit is bath and sanitary only. The shop is an overwhelming experience I want to train them positively that this is a safe place for them. This NOT NEGOTIABLE. I dont care if they are 10 weeks or 10 months their first visit is a BATH ONLY. I have too many dogs that come here from other places that hate the groomer. This doesn't have to happen.

*If you have waited until almost a year to get grooming you have already done a disservice to your dog.

*There is too much going on for them. New place, new people, new smells, new noises, new dogs. Bath...dryer, brushing, clippers are ALL NEW. Leaving home, leaving their person for a time, being in a crate is all new.

You can help your puppy by introducing brushing, clipping and hair dryers at home. Your puppy should ALREADY be in crate training.

You do not need to buy clippers to train your dog, you can buy a cheap $5 electric toothbrush it makes the same sound and sensation as a clippers as it runs over the dogs body feed them treats and praise them for not reacting. Do this daily with BRUSHING.

Even a short hair dog that won't ever need a haircut will benefit from this training.

Crate training is a life saving skill for your dog. They will be in a crate for grooming, after surgery, during disaster evacuation, should be crated in the car. Keeping quiet and calm in a crate if for their BENEFIT. It should be a comfortable safe place.

READ and HELP:

Three bulldogs were found beside their deceased owner and eventually brought to the Charlotte Animal Shelter. They were completely shut down—grieving, confused, and about to lose each other too. Volunteers worked hard to network them, but fosters are stretched far beyond their limits. Only one foster was found, and I couldn’t bear to leave the boy behind as I knew the other girl would be scooped up quick based on looks. I’ve done enough bonded pairs to know he wouldn’t survive it. So, against my better judgment, I took the other two in as a Hail Mary and hoped a rescue would step up.

Thankfully, timid girl landed with an amazing foster who has already pre-adopted her. The remaining two have now been accepted into a rescue that promised to keep them together. But here’s the problem: they’re still nameless. In my house, with three fosters running around, they simply became “puppy,” “girl,” and “boy.” They deserve a fresh start, and that begins with real names. Please suggest your ideas—and like the ones you think fit best.

Yes, they are looking for a home together. The girl (English Bulldog) is about 3 years old, and the boy (American Bulldog) is around 1. They are shockingly easy dogs: housebroken, crate-trained, and well-behaved on leash. They’ve met my dogs and did fine, but honestly, they’d prefer a home where they can soak up all the attention. They believe you are theirs. Your couch? Theirs. Your food? Also theirs. Your personal space? Optional.

They also provide a few “bonus features”: natural background noise (think snorts and snores) and an unlimited supply of toxic gases that will keep your home smelling “authentic.” An experienced bulldog owner would be perfect, but truly, these two are easy—just ready to rule your home if you let them.

If you’d like to help, here’s how you can truly make a difference:
1. Leave a positive comment – it boosts visibility and morale. Negative or unhelpful comments don’t move anything forward.
2. Like and share this post to get more eyes on the dog.
3. Copy and paste this post into other dog groups or pages to expand the reach.
4. Contact rescues directly with genuine offers of help. Rescues are already stretched thin—they need real support, not just tags.
5. Pledge responsibly. It’s great to say, “I will donate $X if pulled by a rescue,” but only honor pledges through the official rescue page after verifying they’re the ones pulling the dog. Never send money to random PayPal accounts or anyone pretending to be me—scammers are out there.
6. Foster or adopt locally. This is the biggest way to help. Dogs are rarely transported across states, but if you’re serious, work with a reputable local rescue and be prepared to handle logistics. Comments like “send it to me in Canada” don’t help unless you’re fully committed—as in the rare case where one dog here did make it to Canada because the adopter did the work to make it happen.
7. Skip the negativity. Attacking a volunteer or shelter helps no one. Suggestions like “you should do xyz” are not helpful when most of us are already doing more than we can. If you want something done differently, please step up to do it. If not, it’s better to scroll on than add discouragement.

Remember:
This is my business page, originally created for my rentals, but I often use it to highlight homeless dogs—because my entire business exists thanks to two homeless dogs I loved with all my heart.

I want to be clear: I’m a volunteer. I am not a shelter, a shelter employee, or a rescue organization. I’m just one person trying to make a difference by shining a light on dogs in need.

I do not handle adoptions, I cannot “ship” dogs across states, and I have no control over shelter policies or decisions. My role is simply to share, network, and advocate—because every share, every spotlight, can help save a life.
