(FKA "Intermediate Obedience") Advanced Obedience is the 2nd level of our Obedience Classes. In this class we "stupid proof" your basics, adding distractions and real life ridiculousness you'll encounter out and about. We perfect leash skills and start working without treats. We also teach new skills, introduce therapy dog skills and some agility skills too!

One second: elite working dog.
The next: smooth-headed land seal

Did you know Pointy Dog ears have an incognito mode?

Most of the time they're standing tall, scanning the horizon for crime, squirrels, and potential snack opportunities. But when they get excited, intensely focused, or occasionally just wet, those famous radar dishes suddenly disappear.

Adoptable Mocha with

He's 8 years old, and he's helped foster well over 100 dogs.

There have been laughs, cuddles, and countless zoomies in the yard. There have also been next-to-impossible days, tears, and losses.

Growing up alongside foster dogs has taught him compassion, patience, resilience, and how to love deeply—even when goodbye is part of the deal.

I hear it all the time: "I couldn't foster, my kids would get too attached."

They do get attached. That's kind of the point.

He understands the assignment. He knows that every dog who leaves for a forever home makes room for another dog who needs saving. He knows that loving them and letting them go aren't opposite things—they're part of the same job.

He doesn't beg to keep every one, he goes to the meet & greet, kisses them goodbye and asks when the next one is coming.

Looking for a plug-and-play dog? Ivan is your boy.
Old enough to have some sense. Young enough to occasionally forget it.

He can settle in public, walk with the kids, sleep through the night, and handle life without turning every moment into a training exercise. But he's still happy to wrestle with puppies, go on adventures, and celebrate random events with a full-body tail wag.
Basically, he's already survived the "do first, think later" stage and is ready to move on to being someone's best friend. 🐾❤️

Hello 2026 Foster 31 & 32 + reappearance of # 24 ♡

In 2023 we fostered 16 dogs. In 2024 we upped it to 25 and in 2025 our grand total was 38.
Do you think we can make it to 50 in 2026?

Before you get a dog, make sure you're familiar with the breed's features.
A Malinois, for example, comes standard with high drive, unlimited opinions, and a state-of-the-art motion detection system that alerts to anything with a pulse. Sometimes things without one.
Could you spend hundreds of hours, gallons of coffee, and approximately 47,000 training treats trying to convince a Malinois that every outside noise, leaf, and suspiciously-shaped cloud is none of their business? Sure.
But... why buy the sports car if your dream vehicle is a golf cart?
Want a high-energy adventure buddy who lives for training, hiking, working, zooming, and a little bit of chaos? A Malinois might be exactly what you're looking for.
Want a dog whose summer goals include finding the shadiest spot in the yard and moving only when snacks appear? You may want to continue shopping.
Not every breed is right for every family, and that's okay.
We've gotten really comfortable calling breed traits "problems." But a dog doing exactly what generations of breeding designed it to do isn't necessarily a behavior issue. Sometimes it's just a feature working as intended.
A Malinois noticing everything isn't broken. A hound following its nose isn't stubborn. A retriever carrying random objects around the house isn't weird.
They're not software bugs.
They're features.
Choose the dog whose factory settings match the life you actually want to live.

Welp, the kiddo got a Malinois puppy (foster).

The child is officially the Chosen Human™ in this house, and I am officially... checks notes ...chopped liver.

Good thing school is out, because these two seem fully committed to spending every waking moment together. ♡

If you're looking for a velcro dog who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, Mocha might be your guy. We're pretty sure he's a malfunctioning Malinois—someone forgot to install the standard-issue shark teeth and chaos software, which is great news for you! He's 0% bitey and 100% cuddly.

When two puppies get together, play can be ROUGH. There may be some rude behavior, face and ear biting, body slamming, or even a little hu***ng. But that doesn't mean they're not dog-friendly or that they'll never learn appropriate play skills.
This is why it's so important to socialize puppies with well-balanced adult dogs, too. Good adult dogs help teach boundaries and provide feedback when puppies get a little too wild.
A goofy puppy playdate isn't going to ruin your puppy. They're babies. They're awkward, excitable, and still figuring out how to dog. Sometimes a little chaos is part of the learning process.

Adoptable Syrup is as sweet as they come. A youngster (and an optimist) through and through, he doesn't see a dreary day, he sees puddles made for running through!
