As we begin expanding our training services here at The Crooked Tail, we thought now would be a perfect time to introduce one of our newest team members, Kady!🐾
Kady has a B.S. in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also had the opportunity to raise and train service dog puppies for a student club partnered with 4 Paws for Ability, a non-profit organization that places service dogs with children and veterans with disabilities. 🦮❤️
Outside of this, Kady spent time serving as a volunteer team lead for the Dog Training and Enrichment Program at the Vermilion County Animal Shelter, where she gained valuable skills troubleshooting undesirable behaviors and handling dogs from all different backgrounds, including pups that are fearful or anxious. 🐶🦴
Before college and in-between semesters, Kady spent her time working as a veterinary assistant, learning the ins and outs of animal health and welfare. 🩺
Kady has two dogs of her own, a 7-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Izzy, and a 4-year-old German Shepherd, Rin (pictured below😁).
Currently, Kady is working on expanding her training skills through pairing her lived experience with the Third Way Dog Training principles, with goals to become a Third Way Master Trainer. 📚
