A little construction update! 🛠️👀

This place is still in 'ruff' shape, but it’s just a temporary diagnosis. Things are starting to look less like a construction zone and more like an actual veterinary clinic again! We’re loving seeing everything come together and are getting closer and closer to the finish line. 🚧🏥

That’s a wrap on Veterinary Technician & Assistant Week! 🩺🐾

We had so much fun celebrating our incredible team all week long with themed dress-up days, yummy treats, snacks, breakfast, lunch, coffee, and plenty of little surprises along the way! 🍕🍎🍿🍽

From Dirty Soda Bar Monday to our Coffee Bar Friday, we hope our team felt just how appreciated they are. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated, compassionate, hardworking group of technicians and assistants who show up and give their all to our patients, clients, and each other. 🥤☕💕

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week extra special, and a HUGE thank you to our team for all the heart they bring to what they do every day. Happy National Veterinary Technician/Assistant Week! 🐶🐱✨

Last but not least in our Veterinary Technician & Assistant Week spotlight series is our Lead Certified Veterinary Technician, Katie! 🩺🐾

Katie began her veterinary journey at Minooka Animal Hospital in July 2013, and we’re so lucky to have her now at Mallard Point! She brings knowledge, dedication, and plenty of heart to everything she does. From helping her team to caring for our patients, she’s someone we can always count on. ❤

Around the clinic, Katie is our Comfort Expert! She has a natural way of helping our patients feel safe, calm, and cared for, making even the most nervous pets feel a little more at ease. 🥰

At home, Katie has quite the crew! Ava Lynn & Anne Frank “Anna” (both pictured) are full sisters and, as Katie puts it, "her dream dogs all rolled into one—part Dachshund, Husky, Saluki, Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier"! She also has DoeDoe, a domestic shorthair cat who’s convinced she’s one of the dogs, along with her fur niece Dakota “Koda,” fur nephew Oliver “Ollie,” and whatever barn kitties decide to show up! 🐶🐱

When she’s not at the clinic, Katie enjoys horseback riding, walking her dogs and cat, and being an auntie! 🐴❤

She’s a country music fan, loves reality shows, and if you really want to make her happy, you can’t go wrong with pasta salad, Dr. Pepper, Twix, or coffee! ☕️🍝🥤🍫

Lana joined our team in November 2024 as a technician assistant and has continued to grow ever since! She is currently working toward her veterinary technician degree. 🩺🎓

Around the clinic, Lana has earned herself another pretty fitting title: our Puppy Wrangler! From wiggly puppies to those who just can’t sit still, Lana always seems to know how to keep them happy, comfortable, and on the right track! 🐶💗

In the photo, Lana is joined by Koda, her adventurous husky mix! At home, she also has Mikasa, her charming tuxedo cat, and Tito, a crested gecko who adds a little extra personality to the household. 🐶🐱🦎

When she’s not at the clinic, Lana enjoys getting lost in a good book, getting creative with colors, and spending time with her friends and family. 📖🎨

She’s a country music fan, loves pickles and pasta, and even enjoys stepping into character and cosplaying with her younger sister! 🎶🥒🍝⚔️

Lori joined our team as a certified veterinary technician in June 2025, and she’s become a favorite around here! 🩺⭐

She’s also our go-to tech for surgery and a true surgery superstar! From helping prepare patients to keeping a close eye on everything during surgery, Lori brings skill, experience, and plenty of care to every case. 🏥✨

When she’s not caring for your pets, Lori has a pretty full house of her own! She shares life with Scout, her german shorthaired pointer; Bailey (pictured), her lovable bernese mountain dog; Drew, her loyal yellow lab; and a whopping 28 chickens! 🐶🐔

She also has her two resident royalty, Paws & Gigi, along with her shed crew of cats: Blackie, Boo-Boo, Mandarin, and Simba. 🐱👑

Outside of the clinic, you’ll find Lori boating, working in her flower garden, getting lost in a good book, or cheering on her kids as a proud sports mom, band mom, cheer mom, and drama mom! 🚤🌸📚📣

A fun fact about Lori? She dreams of having the ultimate Labrador trio — one black, one yellow, and one chocolate! 🌈🐾

Gabbi has been part of our technician/assistant team since December 2018. Around the clinic, Gabbi has earned a pretty special title — our resident Cat Whisperer! Somehow, she always seems to know just what our feline patients need to feel a little more comfortable. 🐱✨

In the photo, Gabbi is joined by Tito, a shetland sheepdog with plenty of personality! 🐾

At home, Gabbi has quite the crew — Grizzly, her happy Goldendoodle, two cats named Obito & Rin, an axolotl and lots of fish! 🐶🐱🐠

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll usually find her hiking with Grizzly, kayaking on lakes and rivers, or listening to her favorite true crime podcasts. Her favorite color is brown because it reminds her of her love for nature and the outdoors. 🥾🛶🤎

And a fun fact about Gabbi: she married her high school sweetheart last year! 💍
