Well, I certainly got the side eye while videoing our kittens. We are running out of product for these babies and the other ones that we have. The items that we need are in the comments below. The pellet litter can be found at Tractor Supply. We use this for our kittens because of experience of them trying to eat clay or scooping litter. This is a safer product and we like to keep our babies safe.
Thank you for all your help.

From Trapped and Terrified to Cali’s New Beginning: A True Story of Second Chances 🐾❤️

Tonight, we want to tell you a story about the profound power of fostering, patience, and love.

In late September 2025, a beautiful soul was trapped in Elko, Georgia. She was in horrific condition—just skin and bones, weighing a meager 33 pounds, with nearly 10 pounds of that being heavy, painful mats of hair (as you can see in the second photo). Left to fend for herself, she had clearly known the absolute worst of humanity. She was completely terrified, shut down, and had wire wrapped tightly around her back legs, trapping her tail and causing severe wounds.

When she first came into her foster home, she would just lay in her kennel and literally cry. For three straight days, her foster mom sat in the room with her for hours at a time, talking softly or just working on the computer, letting her know she was safe.

Slowly, she began to trust her foster's personal dog pack. She started following them outside. She started learning how to be a dog again. It took immense patience, time, and unconditional love, but step by step, she realized she didn’t have to fear human hands anymore.

Fast forward 7 months to today. ✨

Look at that first photo. That is the gorgeous, radiant, confident girl she was always meant to be! She has overcome so much, learning to trust a world that was once so cruel to her.

They say it takes a village, and Whitley’s journey is proof:

From the kind soul who first posted about her on Facebook...

To the dedicated rescue team who trapped her and secured emergency medical care...

To her incredible foster mom who spent countless hours rebuilding her spirit...

And to the resident foster brothers and sisters who taught her how to feel safe in her own skin.

Though she is no longer in her foster home, she will forever remain a part of our hearts and history here at the Humane Society of Houston County.

Tonight, Whitley begins her brand-new life. We want to extend a massive, tearful thank you from the bottom of our hearts to her wonderful adopters. They took the time to truly get to know her, visiting her numerous times to build a bond before officially bringing her home.

Now officially known as CALI, she is living proof that rescue work matters. While there are plenty of happy-sad tears streaming down our faces tonight, mostly, we are just filled with pure joy.

Enjoy your beautiful new life, sweet Cali. You earned it. 🕊️✨
