Iowa Humane Alliance is a Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor area nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ending the animal over-population crisis and eliminating euthanasia of healthy and adoptable pets in Iowa. One of the ways they accomplish this is through the Iowa Humane Alliance Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic which offers high quality, low cost spay and neuter services five days a week for shelter, owned and free roaming animals. Programs Include:

Iowa’s only high-quality, low-cost, high-volume spay/neuter clinic

I-TRAP– provides training on how to humanely trap-neuter-return community cats, discounted spay/neuter, and live, humane trap rentals

Spay Iowa– Referral system for low-cost spay/neuter resources

Love for Pets– Providing low-cost spay/neuter, vaccinations, pet supplies, and microchips for under-served neighborhoods locally

Our volunteer artists are still hard at work on IHA’s Picture Perfect Pet Portraits—and we couldn’t resist sharing some of their latest creations!

From familiar expressions to whiskers and fluffy ears, each portrait brings its own personality. Take a look at the original photos beside the artwork they inspired!

A heartfelt thank-you to our volunteer artists for sharing their time and creativity, and to the supporters whose pets became their muses.

A few final brushstrokes, a little extra personality… our volunteer artists are still hard at work!

Here’s a peek at the creativity behind IHA’s Picture Perfect Pet Portraits—Probably Not! Each portrait celebrates a supporter’s pet while helping more cats and dogs get the care they need.

The fundraiser wraps up October 31, and supporters will receive their finished, polished digital/original portraits by November 1st!

Thank you to our artists and everyone who submitted a pet photo. We can’t wait for you to see the final results!

This year, IHA set a goal of completing 10,000 high-quality spay/neuter surgeries. To date, we’ve completed over 8,000 successful surgeries!

Behind that number are people like you. Whether you join a fundraiser, give monthly, volunteer your time, participate in our trap-neuter-return (TNR) program or schedule an appointment for your fur baby, you help make that care possible.

Every fundraiser purchase helps support a pet’s care. Every monthly gift helps us plan for the patients ahead. Every volunteer lends a hand to keep our work moving. And every pet or community cat brought in for surgery brings us closer to our goal while preventing future litters.

How have you been part of IHA’s story this year? Tell us in the comments—or share a photo of a pet whose story includes IHA!

Tune in this Sunday, October 18th just after 7:09 a.m. to hear about the fun—and how you can help IHA prevent pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter services.

Then join us at Bowldogs on November 8th, from noon–3p.m.!
