Give your skills the spotlight! Kirkwood Continuing Education & Training Services is launching digital badges for students taking select noncredit courses. These micro credentials are verified proof of your acquired expertise, instantly shareable with employers and professional networks to tell your unique story.

Sara Horsfield, a recent digital badge earner for the Kirkwood Pet Grooming Program, kept the momentum going from completing the 12-week program to opening her own grooming salon this summer in Epworth, Iowa. Her view on the micro credential? “I would encourage others to consider getting one because they are incredibly motivating to continue learning and achieving new goals. . . I’m here to tell you it is 100 percent worth it and absolutely anyone can do it.”

Right now, micro credentials are available for pet grooming, welding, athletic coaching, and more - with plans to roll out new badge options across industries and subjects in the near future. Showcase your skills and stand out from the rest!

🌟 Joey the Chinese Crested is back! 🌟

We loved seeing Joey for a return visit at Kirkwood Pet Grooming! ✨

Chinese Cresteds have a one-of-a-kind look and unique grooming needs. Groomer Laura worked with our instructor to learn more about breed standard grooming — and they even discussed proper skin care for hairless breeds like Joey. Hands-on practice and expert guidance help our students build the skills they’ll use in the field every day! 🐾
