Here at Dogs Forever we open our hearts and bring dogs into our care from counties without animal shelters, shelters where dogs are euthanized due to overcrowding, and other reasons such as an owner has passed away and there is no family to take the dog in. With our intimate setting of kennels, the noise level is not offensive to dogs or people, which helps keep the stress among our dogs at a mini

mum. We also use classical and jazz music to help provide a calm and soothing environment for the dogs. Our all-volunteer staff is committed to the well-being of the dogs in our care. Three times each day, seven days a week, volunteers walk, feed, and interact with our dogs. They all receive the upmost medical and dental care from day one with us. Some of them have never known a kind, gentle, loving touch. It's our duty as their caregivers to walk beside them during their journey with us. We provide them with those feelings and emotions to feel safe and confident while we find their forever home. Please visit us on any Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Dogs Forever is at 809 Rockford Road SW in Cedar Rapids. Right behind the Kernel's Stadium scoreboard in the two blue buildings. Sweet tiny Biscuit, Sweet little Lilo and Sweet beauty Maui were officially adopted!!

They all went to their foster to adopt homes a bit ago and now they ALL THREE have new last names. We're so thankful their families found them, they're a perfect match.

If you're a fan of scruffy dogs, prepare to fall in love. 💕

Betty White is a 1-year-old Poodle/Lab mix-ish weighing 41 pounds of fun, fluff, and happiness. This sweet girl has never met a stranger and is always ready to make a new friend—whether they have two legs, four legs, or even whiskers! She's friendly with dogs, cats, and people alike.

Betty White is still polishing up her leash manners, so she'd love a family that's willing to be her walking buddy and help her continue learning. She's smart, eager, and full of playful energy, making her a great companion for adventures big and small.

We think she'd especially enjoy a home with a securely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs, play, and show off her happy-go-lucky personality.

💙 Meet Emmett! 💙

If you're looking for a puppy-sized bundle of happiness, Emmett may be your guy! 🐾

This adorable 6-month-old Dachshun-ish mix-ish is as sweet as he is cute. He's a happy, bouncy little guy who loves making friends, playing, and soaking up attention. When he's not busy exploring, he's more than happy to curl up for cuddles and belly rubs.

Emmett is dog-friendly and would likely enjoy having a canine buddy. If you already have a dog, we'll do a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good fit. We're still learning how he feels about cats and will be cat-testing him soon.
We think Emmett would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely run, play, and enjoy being a puppy.

Sweet girl Gina was adopted!! She's now known as Gigi and her family says she has been the best addition to their family! She loves going on long walks, getting new toys, and just laying in the yard watching the birds. She recently started doggie daycare and gets so excited to play with her new dog friends. 🐾

This sweet 3-year-old Australian Shepherd mix is gentle, affectionate, and absolutely loves being with her people. She’s happiest right by your side—wherever you are, she thinks she should be too. 🐾

This adorable Dachshund-ish mix-ish puppy is just over 2 months old, weighs about 7 pounds, and is overflowing with puppy charm. 🥹 From his floppy ears to his playful personality, Jett has a way of making everyone smile.

💛 Some dogs just make you slow down and smile… Josie is one of them. 💛

Josie is a 2-year-old tan and white-ish Dachshund mix-ish weighing just 16 pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—this little girl has a heart that fills the whole room.

She’s gentle, affectionate, and..well just look at her letting her baby Jett walk all over her.. 😂. KIDS! Josie loves being included, whether that means tagging along on a calm walk, curling up nearby, or just quietly keeping you company throughout the day.

This sweet girl has already given so much love as a devoted mama to her baby, Jett, and now she’s ready for something she’s truly earned: a forever home where she gets to be the one being spoiled and cherished. 💕

Josie enjoys other dogs, though a meet-and-greet is always helpful for any potential canine siblings. She may also enjoy a secure fenced yard where she can safely explore and do her signature tiny zoomies before heading back in for cuddle time. She may be good with cat savvy dogs too, we'll keep you posted!

If you’re looking for a soft-hearted little companion who will quietly become your shadow and your comfort, Josie is ready when you are.
